not got an issue with the fratellis, hardly riveting but quite cheery. never thought much of sex pistols anyway so they can do what they want, though i can see how it destroys their credibility. cribs slating the crowd when supporting them just about sums it up.

I liked the first fratellis album, but then I heard that single from second album and it put me straight off, really pissed off.

I cant beleive Radiohead got a mention in here!! They are a class outift still with loads to give!!
I dont have a problem with The Enemy either. I think their new track is a catchy number. Their music is not original, nor is it the best out there, but is still better than alot of the acts out there. Lead singer Tom shakes things up a bit even if I dont agree with what he says. Everyone is so boring now a days.
Razorlight should hang up the guitars. Its going down hill quickly for Mr Borell.
I am glad Dirty Pretty things called it a day. No good could have really come of them carrying on.
Joe Lean and The Jing Jang Jongs and bands alike.
The ting tings
Coldplay - I love their work up to the third album but I dont know if they can rescue it after that fourth one?!
A rescent band I wish had not is milburn - I loved that little band.

I don't mind Radiohead really. Aye, what annoys me with the Enemy is the fact that all the tunes are "Everything is shit", which to be fair it is, but shouldn't music be giving us hope at times like this? They're going on about being the soundtrack to the Recession and that, but we don't need someone telling us how bad our lives are, we need bands to do what Oasis did in the last recession and give us a bit of optimism surely? People often compare the Enemy to the Jam (mainly because they blatantly robbed from them), but the Jam at least gave the listener a bit of aspiration. Don't you like Morriseey Fergal? Surely to knock a group for banging on about the negatives when your a big fan of Mr doom and gloom is a bit of a contradiction? EDIT: Spelling

True actually, but though Morrissey is 'Mr Doom' the stuff he does is original, none of it copied, so he can doom all he likes.

I'd not say he is "Mr Doom and Gloom"...I know thats the obvious Moz fan defence but he really isn't. Yes, a lot of it is dark and focuses on quite bleak themes, but there's so much humour, so much hope, so much intelligance and so much empathy there that its alright. I'm not against writing about bad things, you've got to really, there's no point papering over the cracks and saying "EVERYTHING'S OKAY" but surely you've got to have some hope or at least something better than "We'll live and die in these towns"

we'll live and die in these towns i think is a class tune, the single anyway. to say morrissey is original is abit off i think too. but i would never say he should stop.

'the tiolets smell of desperation'
Now that is one of the most negative lyrics I've ever heard, the enemy truly have never written anything about having hope, but Morrissey isn't all doom and gloom, the vast majority of his work is, but as Ferg says, he is also very wity and funny.

"dont let it drag you down", from that song. "your not alone at all" is a good example from another. seriously man i know they talk very negative but its a false title as far as im concerned, they aint the best band, tht i agree with any day.
he is both witty and funny, but originality isnt his strength is all i said. nothing against him unlike many musicians i aint fond of.

A rescent band I wish had not is milburn - I loved that little band. true that, Milburn were quality. Disagree with the people that have suggested the Stereophonics in this thread. They are f*cking brilliant and one of the best live acts around to boot.

'the tiolets smell of desperation' Now that is one of the most negative lyrics I've ever heard. its not that its negative, its just a pile of total and utter shite that means absolutly nothing! how can a toilet smell of desperation?!
