Haha, debatable cal, but he certainly is a good promoter like, we all have our little obsessions, me with La's, Ferg with Smiths, sure we all have one.

You're right Antoine, its actually only 37% But aye, we all do, or we all should do! That reminds me, I heard a La's cover of My Generation today and it were top, did sumat that Oasis never did with their cover version and actually changed it like, Mathers going into falsetto

Correct fergal, the crowd in china went mental aswell, it's brilliant. He's a quality performer, on the BBC sessions some of them are majestic.

I got started with the queen is dead, and I fell in love with there is a light that never goes out, can't get enough of all first 3 albums now, Strangeways is still growing on me though. Strangeways is a grower but, once it's grown, it's brilliant. I prefer it to "The Smiths", but its not as good as "Meat is Murder" or "The Queen is Dead". It's got some of their most underated songs on their, like "I Won't Share You", "I Started Something..." and "Paint a Vulgar Picture"

'I Won't share you' is a classic smiths track, one on the album that didn't have to grow on me. Still working on the rest of it though.
Shame I'm the only one of 5 in my house with a taste in music, I've got everyone else into the courteeners which made me happy, but I played Meat is Murder yesterday afternoon and my dad was whinging, and my mum wouldn't stop telling me how much she hates the smiths.
Clueless the lot of em...

Well, as much as I'd like to rejoice, if it did happen, you can see what's coming. It hasn't got the right 'sound' to it, so they release it and Mavers don't like it. I've heard some of his demos from recent years and they are awesome but I really can't see anything beyond speculation. In an ideal world, it will happen and it will be the best album ever, but like I say, just speculation.

I've heard that Stephen Street is involved, which can only be good, rather him than Mr Perfectionist Lillywhite, proper acoustic recorder and that Street. I don't understand though, that if true, then why not get Powers, Cammy and Sharrock on board and go all out La's they are a decent enough band to back the magic. Can't see anything happening, especially with 'Shambles. But maybe there is a god after all...

Steve Lilywhite is a top producer, he may be a perfectionist but that's how he gets his results. And Street is a perfectionist really, they're two very similar producers but Street's a bit rawer, you'd have to be a perfectionist to get two good albums out of Doherty these past few years!

i dunno when i think shambles assisting i don't really think it to be him as much as drew, adam, & mick. who are all very talented musicians and workaholics. so give the boys a bit of credit

I'd rather they just focused on another Babyshambles record, they may be workaholics but they're rarely attributing this trait to Babyshambles. I feel sorry for Stephen Street if he is to be making a record with Lee Mavers and Pete Doherty, as great as they both are(/were) they're not the most reliable are they.

What is with all the Shambles/Peter hate? I love Babyshambles, one of the best live bands I've seen and Shotter's Nation is a frighteningly underrated album, and I'm a fan of Grace/Wastelands, think it probably deserved to do better than it did. However, as much as I love the music and Pete as a personality from what I've read of him, you can't pretend he's a very reliable person in a studio envioronment

The problem that Lee had with Lillywhite was that he was too 'poppy' and they wanted a 'rawer' and 'routier' sound. That's what Street can give him hopefully, if it ever happens.
