As I've said in the CD thread - I'm having a bit of a break from this until I sort out the tour flyer so all your ideas and suggestions are very much needed. One thought, maybe we could use fitting lyrics for the titles of regular features?? Like...erm... A web-watch feature where all the latest stuff on the web are discussed or whatever with the obvious title of ...you spend too much time sat in your bedroom on your pc, or this could just be across the page somewhere?? I'll leave it with you to come up with something better, my examples a bit shit really

Mmm, thought you lot wanted this Right to get the ball rolling again I thought we need a photographer for the next tour, does anyone know one who could help us out on the upcoming tour? They need to be able to take a few hundred photos from one gig - as this would be the featured gig in the 'gig review' and remember what I said 'each person would get a one-off photo from the gig'. Hopefully they wouldn't charge, just for the films/discs and that This is a must if we want the review to be a bit different and a bit special. We would also need the setlist from the same gig to do the repro one in the publication - anyone in with the band? (ahem Cal) I just know it wouldn't be possible to do this for every gig, on the chance one of them will blow the world away - I think it'll be best to target the gig first So we have to target a few of the gigs and decide which will be the 'special' one. Cheers

Sounds like a good idea, have you got a decent camera then? On the photographer, maybe I'm been over ambious about getting a proper photographer but we've got to tat least try - maybe they'll see it as a positive for their portofolio? Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming photographers as well this might suit them?? Also if you notice anyone who does regular work on the band could you let me know I 'know of' a couple, so I'll contact them as soon as and explain what we are doing. If anyone feels they can do just as good a job as them please show yourselves Cheers all

Yeah your probably right, maybe it'll be better with photos from the crowd? bit more rough looking than the pros and would go with the style of the fanzine.
Nice one - feel better now ;D

I have been thinking about the 'one-off' photo for each copy after an exchange of messages with a gig photographer; who said it wouldn't be possible to take 150+ shots at one gig as they only usually get about the first 3 songs! So I think the 'specific gig review' will have to change into a 'tour special' with a highlighted gig. Photos will be taken from across the tour - so the 'one-off' could be from any venue! It makes sense with the limited resources and that. So could you start getting your pictures to me, they would be best as the original file if digital cameras were used. Thanks. The tour special will be better anyway, it'll give us loads of content and unlimited resources from the internet! I'm sure the review panel be able to get a review from each venue organised by badgering members who went, they can't go to every gig So, not only photos from the gig but outside the venues, any of handing out our flyers, ALSO any GIG POSTERS and their own FLYERS, TICKETS, SET LISTS and whatever else tour related! *High quality scans if possible please

With this back on track, I have thought about the current name ' No Musical Education', maybe it's a bit too random, not many would recognise it for being a Courteeners fanzine?? It could still be a title to a regular feature? What do you think of it by the way?
Maybe it could play a lot more on the band and be something like fastfuse suggested for an article title, ' Not Enough Paper In The World', I really like that one and would fit in with it being a fanzine. I'm all for this one now ;D What do you reckon?Come on we need to get a move on if a 'tour special' will be viable to release after the tour! Anyone who has said they will help or anyone who I suggested would be good for this project...HELP ME! Post you ideas and suggestions for anything you think will be a regular or maybe one-off articles for the first issue please Thanks

No excuses Luke you've been around long enough, read mate read ;D Did you ever complete a review of the gig? BTW I reckon we could use some of your photos for the 'tour special', it will have Cal in there somewhere and they are the best shots The 'Tour Special'If we can gather together everything from the tour as it progresses we'll be able to complete this feature in the fanzine with ease. So what will be in the feature then? Obviously the reviews of the gigs so the forum review panel should make an appearance with added reviews from other members. With Gig Reviews from various press and web sources; the press would be cut/ripped out - don't know how we'd use web reviews; with just a load of plain text and their site logo maybe?? Set lists - The set could be displayed from each date - as mentioned before, one of the set lists will be a stuck-in/repro job, so we would need to get hold of an original to do it properly. The Featured Gig - The original idea was to just have a featured gig with all the fancy bits specific to that gig but as it's developed into a 'tour special' the featured gig wouldn't have to be too long now, probably just need the repro set-list/review/fans comments from venue & anything else I have mentioned previously. How would we determine the featured gig?? The obvious solution would be to target a gig from the tour and then use this as the featured one but would have to really go for it with a load of photos and definitely comments from the fans before and after the gig! I would then think it's got to be the Manchester gig Interviews - To get the band for an interview would be amazing! Cal has some contact with Liam now - so if anything could be arranged it would top it off! It would be good if it was at the end of the tour as a end of tour look back interview but even one at the 'featured gig' would be nice?? Support Bands - This could be a section where all the support bands from the tour are given some brutal treatment not really it'll be on their overall performances, best songs, opinions on the bands etc. Resources - Again I'll mention we need all your high quality scans or originals (I'll return them) of your tickets, flyers, posters (setlists) Cheers! We do need to get the ball rolling, so gather everything together as it could easily make the first issue of the fanzine... Other fanzine Ideas...If you remember I had contacted a few people through myspace about the forum, one of them has offered to help with designs and that. She is a graphic designer and into art and that so I think it will help so much. (more important she love the band) At the moment she is going to design a flyer specific to the forum, so I'll see what see can do She also suggested this for fanzine: Great ideas! Maybe they could be able to sign some of them?? Love the idea to get Liam to write something and use his original handwriting - with his blessing on the fanzine you never know! Or maybe a regular feature from The Courteeners Come on now help me get this going!
