Stick-ins, erm, like a scrapbook really...

Like I mentioned for the Gig Review, a repro setlist stuck to the page, a photo from the gig blah blah, you get it

So it'll still have that 'rough as f**k' feel to it but added something a bit extra.

I do think it should be more like a fanclub on the band, so you'd get a years subscription and gifts etc, make it a bit more of a community feel to it and I doubt it'll sell outside the forum anyway!

Pricing would be very difficult but I would think around a tenner for a year would be very reasonable??

Erm, we are way off that at the moment though and need to just work on the main content really

Defo all for a fanclub of the band, no need to include much about other bands because it doesn't really need to be that big. An issue every quarter is spot on and a tenner sounds great aswell. I'm defo all for the repro setlist just stuck in as if it was ripped of the wall without care. I think you're spot on with the whole idea of keeping it within the forum aswell, it would be like a proper exclusive to us members, but as I've said in the past you will have to have a few restrictions, you don't want people joining just for the subscription so you will have to have like a cap on the time they have been a member for like. Aswell as that, if loads of people join then you will have way to much to do.

Yeah I don't want too much on other bands really, like what I've mentioned before really.
I know there's a few who want to feature a lot about other bands but this could be achieved subtly - like the support band in Gig reviews and maybe rival releases going up against The Courteeners.

The classics reviews mentioned by fergal could be related to the band, say the kinks or smiths??

I don't know about this? - equal rights and that but you can't go saying 'your not allowed to subscribe because you have only made 2 posts', it would be like saying your more important than them - everyone is equal, well on here they are.

So no this just won't happen

Well what I meant was if you were to release this tommorow then if you have limited copies then the more commited and long term members would be chosen, right? I don't know if you are willing to make loads and loads, just a suggestion.

I know what your saying but the regular can look after themselves - you don't think they would miss out?

I'm sure if you really want it then you'll be ready for it

As for the quantities, yeah it'll have to be limited amount of subscriptions really - I don't want to keep doing re-presses etc

To do it as a subscription was just an idea that I've warmed to but it's very open to suggestions.

No means is this set, maybe it's a bad idea? There's no way in knowing how many will subscribe, so how many should limited to?

Good and bad points to everything, just got to work on the idea in depth to make it right

I think that the most important thing for now is to get the fanzine together, then decide how it will function, but that's up to you, just my opinion.

I'll summarize where we are with this:


We know what kind of style we want - that's if everyone is happy with the DIY and dragged through s**t look (if it's good enough for Liam Fray and all that ).

At lot of members have offered their help and support - this will make it easier for me

It will be a limited pressing - don't know how many so I won't speculate on this, we'll have to access this later in the project but I know at least 20 of you will want it.
Later on I'll have some kind of questionnaire PM'd to all members for a bit of market research, this will most likely happen after we have all the ideas of features etc.

Pricing has been mentioned but nothing set, again this will be based on the amount pressed, how many pages, colour or b/w etc etc, so we'll leave that for a while too.

Fanclub or fanzine? Just don't know, I don't like the word 'fan club' sounds a bit childish but I like the way fan clubs are done...
...erm can't think of another term for it??

A few features/articles have been listed and have had positive responses.

So the next thing really would to work out what we will include, decide on the content for the first issue anyway, what we will use that could become regulars in the future issues, we need a structure to it at least e.g. cover > contents > news > gig reviews > blah > blah

I'll put some more thought into the content and get back to you
