And all of them have a story about what happened when they met the band!

Great ideas kyle and chezza! It would be nice to have stories from the fans in it. Who's gonna run this thing?

Yeah good to get the girl fan views in there - dispell the lad band myths...and 'no girl in her rite mind comment' that doyle in the guardian made....obviously from an intelligent musical prospective....not just from the eye candy side of things ....

obviously from an intelligent musical prospective....not just from the eye candy side of things .... I do think many girl fans, and some male fans, are in it just to get that almighty glimpse of cupello ;D

"Glasvegas have quite possibly made the album of the year, an awesome record of breathtaking depth and beauty, one that will have the hairs on the back of your neck tingling in a way they haven't since your ears were first exposed to 'Definitely Maybe' or 'Is This It'" Bloody hell, I'm sick of this tired comparison! I've heard tons of bands given this accolade, namely the Courteeners. Sort it out NME

I think, for the fanzine, that you should have an open submission policy whereby anyone can send in their writings / material to the editor and he/she can choose the better / more suitable ones to put in the fanzine. This is similar to how "United We Stand" operates.

Yeah I like the open submission idea, will give everyone a chance but an editor, sub-ed and a few regular writers would be good though. So many good ideas from you lot, keep 'em coming! I'll post a summary or something of all the ideas so far and then we could get some kinda of poll or checklist for a vote on the best/favs

I will resurrect this now the flyer frenzy has passed. I hope all the interest hasn't died as this could be a real good idea, it'll be something extra for the fans to get hold of, bringing the community together and creating there own publication With the review panel starting to take shape (behind scenes), I thought this could be brought into it - one to think about Fanzine?Maybe a fanzine isn't the right format, after suggestions that we might not always have content, this could be a problem so I was thinking it could just come out when the band release a single/album or at the end of a tour. So it could fit right in with the review panel.
Let me know if you still want this or have anything to add, thanks. More thoughts soon

Likewise. If theres a fanzine going I'll be more than happy to help. Too much crap out there not to slate it in written print

Sounds like it could be a winner Cal - of course this would be in the non-related section with it being about The Courteeners and all. I'll try and push this forward this week and get all the ideas everyone's come up with so far together and then re-assess where we could go with the publication

I'd love to be involved, but whether you want someone who has been a member for longer I don't know, but I can assure you that I will be dedicated.

This will be ace, i say we scrap the idea of it being about the courteeners, and just general really. obviously the courteeners would have a big part in every issue and stuff but i think s general publication would be better.

I always thought it wasn't specialist to The Courteeners, though they should have a large part on it. I'll be glad to help on the review front as well, cos theres quite a few cracking releases into the near future, so here is a list I compiled of possible ideas for the fanzine in coming weeks/months: * Courteeners winter tour, I'm going 3 nights on the tour and I'll easily be able to write about at least one of them (Preston and both Apollo nights I'm at) * Courteeners - That Kiss release * Oasis new album * Morrissey new live dvd from Hollywood Bowl * Glasvegas debut album * Cal in Austria, Cal could write an article, with pictures included, about his stay Petes and the time in Austria and all that * Review from Cal of Pete's set in Austria * Classic Album of The Month (or week, or fortnight, or whatever, depends on how regular it is) * Classic Single of the Month (ditto)
