Secure Payments.Trust Me!With a lot of dodgy sellers and hackers to worry about, I have been working on creating a secure payment system. With help from various guides/forums and very kind people who have set-up it up themselves I have created a pubic certificate that can be used when sending payments. The public certificate prevents unencrypted paypal buttons viewed and altered by malicious users, this will be implemented when I create the buttons. Testing.I will have to performs various tests when I have completed the payment system, this will hopefully prevent anything going wrong and make it a smooth process for everyone. More soon

Just a quickie before I get started on the payment system again... I will now confirm that the latest t-shirt design will be the FINAL design that will go to the printers.I have given every opportunity for members to have their input along the way and from your comments I believe we have worked together to reach our goal. Once the S&C Catalogue is up and running I will PM the members who have pre-ordered to complete their payment through paypal - remember the pre-order was used to confirm interest and isn't confirmation of purchase. I will then proceed with my order at the printers ;D That's the plan anyway

Secure and Encrypted are totally different I did misunderstand the paypal guide for creating payment buttons. Encrypted buttons are so no-one can view the code. I have done away with the encrypted buttons for the moment but at least I know a bit more about it (after setting up my own public certificate - got a bit carried away) So I'm now trying to complete a bog-standard catalogue with info pages etc. I'll add just a few headings to customize it. A proper shop will be introduced with the forum makeover More soon....

I left the project alone yesterday as I just had to clear my head!Just waiting to start a job with a new company so I'm back at work Monday. I know I need the money and will help me order the t-shirts but I'll miss working on the forum day after day. I would love to do something like this as a full time job Latest Update...Not too much to report back with. I did a complete tidy up on my computer as it was a right state. Everything is in it's right place now so I'm a lot more organised The only work I have done on the S&C catalogue is a bit of rough planning on paper and drafting out the terms and conditions page. Badges with t-shirt...When we were developing the design of the t-shirt some members wanted their own name and number printed on the t-shirt. This would have been a very slow process to get all the names etc and the cost would have been a lot higher. Unfortunately this good idea had to be scrapped! I did suggest a badge or patch with your user name on but that seems a long time ago and I hadn't added to the initial idea until now. Whist my computer was backing-up I thought about the design and that, then sketched them out but have yet to design them. Here's my thought's so far: - 2 Badge Set to come with the purchase of the forum t-shirt.
- Packaging will be simple as members are more likely to wear these.
- Maybe have the choice of a black or white set to match your t-shirt, or both colours if you buy both t-shirts.
- First badge with name, second badge with a part of the t-shirt design.
That's all I'll give you at the moment

That's all I'll give you at the moment yeah darren I really like this idea - does save the cost rather then actually print them on the shirt so you actually have the badge with the UN on it so you can wear it on whatever you want and wouldn't mind a S&C002 badge as well - i'm up for this idea - is anyone else?

I was thinking of having the cat no. on the first design but I suppose it wouldn't be too clear on a 25mm badge! I'll have a play later and see what I come up with, it may have to turn into a 3 badge set

Stop/Start/Stop/Start...I've had to work on the catalogue bits at a time because of other commitments life brings. I had to start all over again with the code, I just can't comprehend dreamweaver, running before you can walk springs to mind! I do it every time; get a product and dive straight in..... ...definitely not the way to work Getting the page layout to look right on the site is a right pain, I've had to use a template to try and figure it out, copy some code from that and guess what... my code stopped working! Ahhhh, even the basics are doing my head in... I'm determined to get some more done today even though my to do list is getting out of hand but more importantly get the catalogue live

Now we have the snortingandcavorting.com address for the forum and will use that when the forum has been re-developed (don't ask for a time scale) I thought the proboards URL is on the t-shirt. This will stay on the first t-shirt, at the moment the .com address is only live to get the URL into the google system. I like the fact the proboards url is on the first tee! It show the roots of where the forum began and their won't be any others like it,. Can I be sentimental over a forum? ;D Any other products would show the .com if a url is applied. All very exciting to think about, I must crack on now, just a bit more info for you lot as I haven't posted on here for a few days. I may show up online but I'm behind the scenes

To move this along I've been working on the project travelling to work and back. This gave me about 2 hours extra a day to work on it, something that I needed to do as I had wanted this done and dusted last weekend! It has to be accessible and easy to use for everyone, so I won't go live until I'm happy with the basics Progress of the catalogue.- Just about finished the content for the catalogue (text, images)
- Most of the graphics are complete (headers are complete)
- The structure is in place and ready to move to the marketplace
What else needs doing.- The actual cart system needs checking that the payment system works
- Links need to be made within the catalogue for easier navigation.
- Check it displays ok in other browsers
Once I have done all this I will continue to work on the catalogue so it feels and looks a lot better, this is my first real attempt at my own coding, so it's all a bit simple and naive. When I get more time I will keep teaching myself html/css/dreamweaver. The actual t-shirt.So we had been aiming for a June release and that is still possible, I think I'll be able to pay the printers without having to ask for payment on your pre-orders The final design will most likely sent to the printers next week, then it'll be about 2 weeks after when I receive the finished article! So it will be approx mid-June (around the 14th) before they can be sent to you lot. I'm aiming to have the catalogue installed in the marketplace before so the t-shirts can be ready to go. Meaning you could have your forum t-shirt around the 16th if all goes well ;D More soon

Now I have had a little breather from the catalogue I will continue with it this week seeing as I'm not at work again! It does need to be up very soon as I will be sending the designs to the printers later this week and then it'll be at the most 2 weeks after that the t-shirt are delivered to me So I'll move camp from in front of the tv and work within my office, I won't listen to any music or I get distracted with my music collection ;D Hopefully I get stuck in and complete the basic cart and pages for the catalogue.

I'm so relieved the Catalogue is up and running in the Marketplace. I'm sure it's been over a month since I said I'd set-up a payment system for your pre-orders So anyone who confirmed their pre-order can now pay for it if they wish. The printers for the t-shirts emailed back about my designs!I was busy on the catalogue and missed it about 3pm, I sent them a zip of all my layered designs and they want something else. Shame. It'll probably be Monday before I hear back now So as soon as I know anything you will too

The catalogue is up, the t-shirt fully developed... ...just the horrible weekend stopping businesses working now I must bide my time and wait patiently to confirm/pay for the printing. I think I'll use this project category for all future t-shirts, makes sense as I'll just start another thread for the next t-shirt design... ... I haven't forgot about the other ideas you lot came up with The badge setI did forget to mention the badge set that comes with the forum t-shirt! It's now a 3 badge set but I need some urgent advice on my first designs, here it is: I like the silhouette logo and t-shirt text badges... ...the 3rd badge is proving the stumbling block, I've added a name with a barcode font to see what it looks like. This fits in with the t-shirt design again. I can print your 'proper' name on the edge of the badge for a little added touch, this is only visable when your look real close! Or for a different design, you can just have your forum user name printed where the barcode is. This will be in the same font as the cat no. but lower case.
Of course I wouldn't be able to make the 3rd one until the t-shirt has been purchased as it's a custom badge but I can have it all ready to enter your name and then make it . Please let me know what you think but I do like the barcode idea
