Come on it's a forum, opinions will differ from time to time, surely there's no need to leave, all opinions should be valued.
Me personally, I think St. Jude & Falcon are both excellent albums. I can't wait for The Courteeners 3rd album as and when it drops in the shops. I think Liam Fray will always want to improve on each album, regardless of the quality.

^ Agreed.
It just seems like people are trying to be dramatic, and I'm sure most will be back when things start happening with them again. There's not really been anything going on to do with the band since Falcon, so discussion has been a bit dead, but when stuff's going on this place is great for banter.

Im sure the place will benefit from this anyway. proper petty from all involved. (well, most)
anyway yeah to reiterate, I think that while Falcon is brilliant musically, its nothing on St Jude lyrically so I look forward to a top third album. Infact I wouldnt mind one of those b-side albums before then
1.Kimberley 2. Slow Down 3. Smiths Disco 4. Trying Too Hard To Score 5. Not One Could I Give 6. New Romantic 7. About You Now 8. Car 31 9. Jacket 10. Sycophant (Belgique) 11. Social Fireworks 12. Whites of her Eyes 13. Why Do You Do It? 14. Piercing Blues
I mean, who wouldnt buy that?

I'd like this to be a release about this time next year when touring, festivals etc. dies down. Something for the fans.

I always had a little feeling Why Do You Do It? was going to be saved for an album before it became a bside. I think it's better than just being a bside. Does anybody have any opinions on what the new ideas may be for album No. 3?

ah god totally forgot An Ex Is An Ex and Saw This... they should probably replace the NYD NYD b-sides on my list. Ive not heard the redone Why Do You Do It? yet but I definitely think its got potential.
Album number 3 I dont know, could see them get abit more mature like the Arctic Monkeys with Humbug, but I dont think thats what I want. Id like them to go more Kings of the New Road, Aftershow, Kimberley I think. real bluesy rock.

Yeah I'd like album No.3 to have more aggresion. Falcon was a lot more thoughtful and gentle. A heavier sound than the previous two albums would be very interesting. Anger is a good tonic, and with the current state of British guitar bands/ the charts, there's a lot of reasons to be angry. I like an album that's born out of frustration and disarray.

definitely. im glad they did Falcon cus its a great album but Id like abit more anger, which can even be done with slow songs like An Ex is an Ex, and Please Dont

see this is what i had in mind when i started the thread! Personally I'd rather see a live DVD than a b-sides album? I think it will be much more rockier personally.

ahhh well they could do what muse did will hulabaloo and release the b-sides in conjunction with the dvd. but I agree that would be cool to see.

I'm imagining they may release one more single this summer Sycophant/Good Times Are Calling?, play the Festivals, European Tour etc. Then hopefully a small UK Tour or one Big Gig again then by next year the Falcon chapter will be over. Hopefully The Courteeners will release an EP/DVD about this time next year, just something to keep the fans interested as that is always the quiet part for a band/fans.
I'm just hoping by Album No.3 The Courteeners will get a lot more recognition, they deserve more.
