On the mass quit rage. I think I may join. Done t before but this is permanent. Immature maybe, but much to my dissapointment I can see this place dying off. Yeh 95% of the time it's fucking cream, the banter is class, but the other 5% is just bad hash, and who wants bad hash?
I have no problem with anyone on here, I'd find it hard to have a problem with someone I didn't know, because I don't know any of you, met a few once or twice and you all seem like really nice people. But opinions seem to have daggers thrown towards them for differing with others. What's wrong with dissagreeing? Our opinion makes us us.
The Courteeners are one of only like 2 modern bands that I ma in love with, I hate modern music and almost everything about it, but The Courteeners are the most spirited band in the fucking world, playing some of the best tunes in the fucking world. Songs that give you chills when you here them, songs that change tour life. They have bought back the spirit of music that was alive in old bands, I know it's nostalgic, but I believe it to be true. Beatles, Stones, Chucky Berry, Smiths, La's, even early Oasis, the music was there and they all had that something special, not enough bands have it now. The Courteeners do. I'm never stopping loving The Courteeners, we all have our personal journeys with them, and I wouldn't be into music at all if it wasn't for them.
Long live Courteeners.

It's got over the top. I'm not going to leave, though I'm tempted to half the time I read comments on here, but bowing out for a bit. Staying to enjoy the contributions of those quality few, they know who they are, who offer good insight and discussion and appreciation to the Courteeners as is deserved. All about the music really, why spoil things

Dec just introduced me to this thread, fucking hilarious "Lyrical shitheaps" what a ridiculous thing to say
Surely most of you joined this forum, as I, because like Morrissey and the great's, the band's lyrics are more meaningful and thought about than most of the standard tripe around in these times, and the songs actually have something to say
Surely if you consider the lyrics to be "shitheaps" what the f*ck are you doing on here, wasting your time posting about a band you don't appreciate for what they are about

It's not just one thing, it's the way this place is going.
I love this band, mean a lot to me and I've followed them in all sorts of different places, had some fantastic nights and loved every second of it, and long may it last.
This place is going to the dogs thanks to certain people, some great people on there and I've met some top people who are re-occuring faces at gigs and that, some great people, you all know who you are.
However, I don't want to stand here and associate myself with hate and pointless arguments, it's been going on for too long. Stuff like "lyrical shitheaps", having a do at the ability of members of the band in a negative way and personal attacks on me and my brother, it just isn't something I want part of.
Don't want to appear ostentatious with a big resignation as if it matters, it's an internet forum, but as I said before, not leaving permanantly, keeping a profile and I'll have a look and see what's going on, but bowing out.
But first, have a listen to this...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rv1FSHF5i-A
See you in the next one.

Maybe I'm not seeing what you're all seeing. Maybe you're saying I'm the problem. In which case why don't I leave and you all stay?

Ill be the first to admit that my comment was far too over the top. Liam Fray stands out as one of the finest lyricists of my time but understand that I made that comment relatively. I just think Liam can do better. Im sure he does too.
People are overreacting on here though. Seans comments werent harsh he just believes the rest of the band can offer more. surely that isnt negative. If it turns out that Dec and Ferg have left on behalf of my own over zealous comments then I implore you both to return.
And you havent been the only one to suffer personal attacks Ferg having your brother telling me to get out more. Having that sort of comment on a forum is somewhat laughable. Ive met you both. I like you both. You know I love Falcon, I just think they can do better.
Long life The Courteeners, SnC, The Kinneys, Cb and Sean and everyone who pops in.

here's my two pennies worth:
"lyrical shitheaps" i don't agree with but this is a forum - a DISCUSSION forum, not a forum for blind adoration. you don't need to appreciate fray's every move to appreciate that this band have made some excellent tunes, which they have and will continue to do so

Come on it's a forum, opinions will differ from time to time, surely there's no need to leave, all opinions should be valued.
Me personally, I think St. Jude & Falcon are both excellent albums. I can't wait for The Courteeners 3rd album as and when it drops in the shops. I think Liam Fray will always want to improve on each album, regardless of the quality.
