haven't bought NME in ages but picked it up generally to see who made what in the top 50 albums/singles
proper pissed that st jude didn't make the top 25 let alone top 50
MGMTs album got the best album and "kids" as best song - catchy tune but there were far better songs this year
picked up the album on the cheap from zaavi and it ain't bad - catchy but again - NME making big song and dance over them like they do every band

So, are you saying that they did a top 50 albums of the year, and St. Jude wasn't in it? Oh dear fukin god, I didn't actually know that 50 albums were released this year, thats pissed me off.

I've put them in their place now, someone else correctly commented that NME are MGMT cock suckers, so it seems anyway. If I'm honest them I haven't actually ever heard any of their songs, but most modern music is shit so I don't want to hear it.

I like a few MGMT tunes off the album but its not the album of the year, NME are obsessed with them, must think they are the new Strokes ha
Cavorting should have been in the top singles and defo St.Jude in the albums
I can't think what my favourite single/album of year is though to be honest

Cavorting and Acrylic were 2007.
The new Strokes. No way, the strokes are one of the few modern bands that impress me, and they do it well, the strokes are original, and brilliant.

Certainly debatable upton, but they are one of, with KOL, in fact, I'd put them ahead of KOL because they haven't made a below average album.

Haha this year has gone fast, forget that cavorting was 07
MGMT will never be anywhere near as good as the Strokes!
I was just saying that NME were obessed with the Strokes when they first came across them hailing them as saviours of rock N roll and because they havn't dne anythin for years, NME need a new american bum buddy, MGMT
Strokes are probably one of my favourite bands, MGMT are shit compared to the Strokes

The Strokes are amazing and deffo one of, if not the, best bands of the last 10 years. Not just Is This It is amazing, there are glimmers of genius on the other two albums as well, but Is This It is by far their best. Between Love and Hate and Heart in a Cage are better than most on "Is This It?" I reckon though
