Really chuffed for them like, They really deserve it.......without doubt the album of the year for me, Does anyone think there might be a Brit Award nomination in the new year? I know it's all stereotyped any everyone slags it off, But just after thoughts?

I really can't see anything about their music, I know quite a few of you will disagree but I bought the album and they just sounded like a really really bad tribute to The Jam, their lyrics made no sense, it was all basic and boring.

The Enemy are the right support band for Oasis actually, they get everyone going and that and its instantly accesable and relatable, and they're very popular. I've not got that much to hold against them, I bought the album but I didn't listen to it much after the first two listens, most of the songs sounded too similar and it was too heavily influenced by The Jam but with the Oasis guitar sound. They offer nothing new but they're doing an alright job and a lot of young people are getting into the Jam and Oasis as a result of the Enemy....so you can't fault that! But Tom Clarke does come across as a prick though....then again so would Liam Fray if you believed everything that the NME chose to quote, so I never like to judge off NME interviews and that, they can paint someone to be one thing when in reality they're so very far removed from that, for example Liam Fray Really chuffed for them like, They really deserve it.......without doubt the album of the year for me, Does anyone think there might be a Brit Award nomination in the new year? I know it's all stereotyped any everyone slags it off, But just after thoughts? Nah, I'd be very very suprised. Best Live Act at a push but I can't see a Brit Awards nomination, as nice as it would be.

Nah, the brits rarely seem to pick any modern indie rock bands for awards, Arctic Monkeys deseved their awards, but in all fairnedd they are much bigger than The Courteeners at the moment, if the lads make a top second album in the new year and gain popularity then maybe, but as I said, for modern Indie bands they have to be huge to gain Brit Awards, if you look about then you will notice that it is Pop groups and the sorts who get the awards, take that are an example. Simply because they cover a huge variety of music. Oh, and just a point, you may not agree, but as much as take that annoy me, I really admire Gary Barlow as a song writer, shame the other 3 are talentless.

in fairness, from what i've heard, take that put some show at their live gigs. its more than just four blokes singing yaknow. I'm not exactly a fan, but I can respect the way they bounce around the stage and remember all the choreography, and still sing well at the same time. it take something to do all that. and come on, we all love Shine really

Yeh, my mam has been twice and she says they put on an amazing show, and like you said to do that whilst singing pretty damn well is great. I admire them, well Gary Barlow, for his songwriting, all these manufactured pop acts get stuff written for them and spend half their time miming.
About the live act, you'd think a rock band would put on a great show and award deserving but that just shows how great they are.

I thought is was a dig with the comparison lark, it's not even a comparison to be completely honest. Just out of nosiness, why did Oasis pick The Enemy to support them in the big f**k off gig next summer, Kasabian are awsome, but the decision to choose The Enemy leaves alot to be desired. id love to courteeners on those gigs next year with oasis & kasabian, has anyone heard of noel commenting on the courteeners? id be interested to hear what he makes of them.

It would wouldn't it jthemod, as far as I know he hasn't said anything, not sure if he has much of an opinion on modern bands, although I've heard him mantion he likes Arctics. If he says anything, then this is the first place to hear of it

Gary Barlow has to me one the most talented and nicest blokes in pop! He's written some amazing songs - and I'm really pleased he's got the sucess he deserves after robbie was a total pr**k about him!
