Cheers Cal. Fergal's doing a fine job with the audio and now he's kindly doing all the touches like the splitting of audio for tracks and track labelling so you lot can see the track names on your audio players (hopefully) - I've never had much success with doing that, I'm sure it didn't work for the last one I did The tracklisting isn't far off from being confirmed so I'll be able to finish the sleeve and 'extras'. Once he's done all that lot he'll be sending the 'master' to me and then the one man production line will begin ;D

The track names don't show on my stereo anyway, the one is my car does, but not the one in my room, it's an old JVC tower stereo from nineties, amazing, but that it one think it doesn't have.

I've evolved the insert (which just seemed to be there for novelty value) into a insert booklet At least you'll have a bit more literature about the tracks and that and it'll fit into the card sleeve perfectly. It's all at the rough layout stage at the moment and will come together when I get the final tracklisting. Defo will look all handmade with a bit of quality showing through - also thinking of having a different way to give them individual numbers, not rubber stamped OR on the sleeve OR going overboard with numbers on everything!! So I'll get thinking about that one to see if I can achieve it without using a font - one first thought would be to get an old book and cutout the page numbers and stick them into the booklet More soon...

A novelty always adds to the content Darren. It's something to read, I love it when you get good inserts, one of the best I've seen is in 'Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band' by The Beatles, all the lyrics, and what would have been excititng in the day a cut out of something of other, can't remember what it is exactly but it is the kind of thing that makes these inserts exciting. In comparison to 'Please Please Me' the Beatles debut album, which just had a big story about how they got together, it is very exciting. Bith are good ideas but are completely different, though I do like the idea of having a story in the debut album. Anything that the user can use or read for a decent amount of time is brilliant.
I'm not sure exactly what you are planning for an insert but even if you look in you CD collection for ideas then you will get some inspiration. Most CD's just have lyrics but you will be suprised what a few pictures and stories can do for inserts. Just depends on how much time you were planning on spending.

Loving your last post Ant! As you know I love my packaging & that, so yeah I'm planning something for this now Today I've been printing out my rough work to see what it looks like and with a few little changes it'll be great. The booklet will be a mini exercise book with the notes being about the tracks etc, so it'll all be the same style Been thinking about what Ant mentioned with the inserts and has made me re-think the way in which I'll design & print the whole 'exercise' booklet. It'll take me longer if it all works but hopefully will be worth it when I've printed it out and put it all together. I know I'm not giving much away about what is in the booklet but I've got to do a whole test print to see if it looks good - As soon as I decide which way I'm going with the design I'll post a few test prints for you

Thanks for asking Andy but not much to report back... I've done some test prints for the booklet, so I'll show a little teaser of the front cover I'm just waiting for the final tracklisting ( ) from Fergal so I can finish off the text/words, related artwork and all the other content! Other possible freebie: Badge OR Sticker?? Wish I had something to make patches or some other kind of merch?? Not lighters, mugs, clocks or ought like that but something like an insert sticker sheet with peel off stickers/cut-outs in different shapes etc. bit like Ant said about St. Peppers inserts The time will come, just got to push myself to the next step but I think my work can be better with better resources

Why so angry fastfuse? I'll have you know I didn't study what makes of paper and notepad we used, we simply write on them, I learnt from what I write and I didn't spend all day gawping at the name on the pad, since this would be a complete waste of time. I'm sure that you being the man full of wisdom you are fastfuse you didn't spend all day staring at the make of pad either did you?
