Just downloaded the album, yeah I heard it, it's very poppy, it is the poppiest thing they've done, kinda disappointed, it doesn't rock that much, Liam isn't that good of a lyricist

Seems to have went backwards with this album though.

I have pre-ordered the album of course but couldn't wait, I am far too weak.
The bits I have heard so far are fucking epic. Liam's voice is sounding better than ever, really is on form.
I think it is the rockiest thing they have done yet, van der graaf and push yourself have some ridiculously good guitar in them, particularly the verses.
I learnt before Falcon to not doubt Liam's ability, he just grows and grows as a lyricist and musician, 3 completely different yet all superb albums. Some really inspiring lyrics on Anna and some real kick arse rock n roll stuff.
Wont be happy until I can blare the CD from my stereo though!
Thanks again Liam for some amazing tunes, sorry for being so impatient though.

Are you in love with a notion, Money and Push Yourself are my favourites, the rest isn't amazing I don't think but then I don't think anything compares with St. Jude, and havn't really given any time to digest it properly... Must be a few growers in there

After 3 straight listens last night, I have decided that welcome to the rave, money and van der graaf are my favourites. Special mention for marquee which is fucking beautiful and really touching. Ant, just seen your old reply in the 'introduce section' - you still in great moor? If you're going notts/sheffield gigs in the new year then maybe meet up? Only 2 of us going down at the mo & the more the merrier..! Afraid to say I am not going to either of them two gigs, me and the missus are off to Liverpool only. Of course I am still in Great Moor though! There's no road out of Stockport

Hi Snorters and Cavorters. I don't come on here much but I'd just like to add my ten penners worth on the new album.
Only given it a listen through once so far so I'm yet to form a strong opinion but 'When You Want Something You Can 't Have' is a fookin tune!! For me, after the first listen it's the stand out track. It reminds me of a cross between NNF and LOTL. The rest of the album so far does seems a little poppy and a bit bland, but as I've already said this is only after my first listen.
Great to get an early Christmas present though with it leaking.

I Pre-ordered the album so had no guilt in going for the download, especially as loads of others will have it.
Are You In Love With A Notion? & Save Rosemary In Time are brilliant.
Welcome To The Rave was a massive disappointment to me, production has ruined it.

Pity, that's the one I'm looking forward to most. If it's like the production on Lose Control though I get where you're coming from.

Think (hope) it could be a grower, some great melodies but it's the first time Courteeners songs haven't straight away got stuck in my head, definately too poppy in places, welcome to the rave a good example of that, the poppy keys should be heavier for me
Only stand out songs for me: 'Are You In Love With A Notion', 'Van Der Graaff', 'When You Want Something You Can't Have' and 'Here Come The Young Men' which has to be a single, the lads at their best, sounds a bit like The Cure and love the lyrics/melodies. Van Der Graaf in with a shout hopefully too.
