Eeeer, never been to a festival, suprise suprise. When do tickets and stuff go on sale, because if some of you lot are going to any then I will go, as mentioned before, I have no friends with musical taste and they will all be unwilling to go. So if anyone is going to any then I will tag along if I can afford it, going to speedway GP this year so it will be a stretch.
On the parent thing, this is really where it pays to be a rebel, my mam and dad gave me all the freedom I wanted by 15, maybe because they just gave up on me getting anywhere with education, but it all stemed from just standing up to them and telling them what I'm doing rather than asking them. If you do that then the shoe is on the other foot and they will feel under pressure to let you go, don't ask them, FUCKING TELL THEM!

Or just get your parents to trust you then you can do whatever you want?
But it depends on your parents I guess!

The best example that I remember was when I wanted to go to bell vue speedway, I was about 14/15, can't remember exact age. The problem was that it was in the evening, 7-9pm, and no one was avaliable to take me and a friend, so the only way was on the train, Woodsmoor-Piccadilly, then Piccadilly-Bell Vue. But of course mum was a dick about it and being a mum she wouldn't let me get on a train so late by myself even though I was with a mate. So I literally just tried it out by saying one night when I had my coat on that I was going out, she asked where out of concern, I said to the speedway. I walked out and to the train and she did not stop phoning me all evening. It was until I got home half 9ish that my point was proved, all from telling her what I was doing. She from then let me go to the speedway on the train, and I applied the same rule to other things and after a while she just let it be. What I laughed at was that my dad was always good about these things and wasn't fussed what I did by myself, not because he didn't care, because he was to worked about to think about what could happen. I didn't mean anything aggresively, I simply couldn't be arsed being told what I was going to do and miss out on things, and I think that because she is fairly soft, she just gave up soon enough and trusted me. Nothing bad has ever come from it, nothing ever happened to me travelling by myself at that age so it was all good. It just comes down to how secure your parents are and how stuburn they are.

Whoah long time since iv been on here ...uni is taking its toll on me haha Reading this tho thought I would add a few comments hvaing done Leeds weekend 07 and V and Leeds weekends 08 Only reason I went V last year was cause of Courteeners as they weren't playing Leeds and they were awesome well worth the money, few other good bands as well but with the weather being as crap as it was really didnt ake the best festival Also sniffer dogs everywhere my mates were very lucky to get their supplies in, then they chack you for glass bottles and make you pay to put in plastic ones if you have them although managed to get through that again I just thought the atmosphere in general was pretty crap with most ppl around us being a lot older and no night parties or entertainment at campsites so evenings were pretty boring and didnt meet that many ppl
Leeds on the other hand is just incredible, completely different atmosphere with ppl just walking over for a chat and we made a whole new group of friends with the ppl we camped with They have so much more new bands and so many more bands in general so there is always someone you want to listen to unlike V who seemed to put on all the good bands at once There is also campsite raves where we ended up having the best nights and the duracell rave tent for anyone thats into that sort of thing although gets a bit busy Thats just an opinion from an 18yr old despite having some really good bands at V, Leeds wins everytime for me having spent the evenings at V thinking cant wait till next weekend when I can go out and party at night

Just looked up benicassim ... line up looks better than all the uk festivals together! No1 mentioned TITP yet? Last year was peach - never left the NME stage for pretty much all of saturday. Front row for the courteeners, dunno HOW i managed to wiggle my way there, but it happened. Boys were on form! Line up this year is horrible i think. Lady GaGa & The Saturdays? ?? Are u havin a giraffe Jeff Ellis??? NO DEAL Bought myself & the b.f tickets, the week after i hear these 2 are playin! Smashin. Reckon ill be payin 180 quid just to camp in a field n get mwi all weekend.
