I were thinking about this before, what was their most important moment of this year? Dunno what I mean by important, thats just the most fitting word. For me, it's either Glastonbury, as there is no greater f*ck off to the doubters than over 15 000 singing back and going mental, or the Apollo double nighter, as few bands do that even on their second album let alone their debut and they were brilliant gigs both nights. Any thoughts? Perhaps the album release....or when they were on Hollyoaks

Hard to pinpoint one moment, I remember when I first saw them at Warrington parr hall and they seemed genuinely surprised by how well the crowd knew every word to songs they hadn't even released yet, pretty important in that it was an obvious sign that they were gna do well. It was the first time I'd seen them and straight after the gig and wanted to know when the album was out.
Couldn't get Please Don't, If it wasn't for me, Bide your time, cavorting to name a few, out of my head
I knew they were gna be successful from that point on and searched the net for downloads which led me here!
The academy gig, both apollo nights showed what they can do and Glasto was 2 fingers to the NME and any doubters

Glasto was fucking brilliant, from seeing them play to a half empty room to thousands of people. it was unreal. plus id been on a bender for a few days with me uncle and made the whole experiance a bit more bizzare.
Also, in a different way, That Kiss coming out, showed a different side to thw band, strings and that, maybe the shape of things to come.

for the me it was the academy gig, closely followed by the apollo gigs.
you could argue that the actuall release of st jude was the most important moment. But although it was a relative chart success, it was for many - including me - a musical disappointment.

Nearly every song on that album is great, I had a few qualms with the production of a few tunes but you get over that pretty quickly, at the end of the day its a collection of great songs, no matter how they're produced or put forward or any funny noises or whatever, and it's class. What do you mean by a musical disapointment?

think he meant by their standards like, overproduction n all that.
i think it was cus we had all heard the tracks a million times personally.
i think its the 53 degrees gig back in january, for the reasons that mike gave about warringtion really!

TinthePark was unreal, the band had the best crowd on the NME stage all weekend apart from The Prodigy who headlined on the Sunday. Also meeting Morrisey & Glasto must have been top.

Few great moments, although I didn't go, the Apollo double sounded pretty epic.
The album release of course.
A personal favourite was Liams reply to the guardian review, I've read it so many times, this afternoon in fact, it was just like kicking them right in the bollocks and saying 'f*ck off'.

53 degrees in january was class, best time ive seen them. also, mozza biggin up the band, top promotion from a genuine legend. a forgotten moment for many, the hmv instore gig back in january.....how good was that?! absolutly mental, opening with fallowfield, the place erupted. really nice little room hmv have got going in there.

yeah it was brilliant. was suprised how cool the room was actually, it was like a proper gig rather than a band playing in a shop. loved it.

yh the WTYSL gig was amazing. amazing atmosphere, great feel to the place.
by "musical disappointment", i felt that with the album alot of the songs lost their 'rawness'. songs like, NNF, NYDNYD (especially), Bide Your time and If it wasn't for me lost that proper mancunian feel that really attracted me to the band in the first place. The 'overproduction' of the album has been discussed countless times around the forum since the release.
thats what i meant anyway, if yu get my meaning.

my only niggle was they left the guitar intro out of NNF, the rest of the album is fucking immense
