I really feel they are slated because people are jumping on a band wagon Oasis have wrote some classic tunes after BHN
Who Feels Love The Importance Of Being Idle Let There Be Love Stop Crying Your Heart Out Little By Little Sunday Morning Call Gas Panic Lets All Make Belive
All top top songs.

It is like a football team, you just stick with them through all the sh*t.
Yeah some of there songs sound similar and the Beatles thing has gone a bit far.
But there's not many song writers as good as Noel Gallagher. What that guy can do with five chords is brilliant.
I really liked Don't Believe The Truth the songs are just better and i think Dig Out Your Soul will be a slight departure but nothing ground breaking. They do what they do well and there never going to change, I still love em

To be honest upton, the only one of those songs I can take to is Stop Crying you heart out, but like I've said in the past, I can hradly take to anything after the first 3 albums.

I think that some bands are made to be remembered as live bands, as are some songs, maybe this is with alot of oasis stuff.

I wouldnt say all of those are classics. Very good songs yes, but not classics. Sunday Morning Call, Lets All Make Believe, Importance of Being Idle in my opinion are far from being their top work. I prefer Where Did It All Go Wrong from SOTSOG. But that is what makes music so good. Like football it is all based on opinions. It would be boring if everyone agreed. Like a few people have said, when they perform those songs live they do become classics. They are a fantastic live band. Fastfuse is right, listen to Lyla live at an oasis gig and its amazing. But I fear that their new stuff is not going to be up to an Oasis standard that their first 3 albums or so have set. SHock Of the Lightning is alright, but bit boring for me. I am a big Oasis fan, dont get me wrong, but I am not blind to the fact they have made some not so good tunes as well and sometimes I think people ignore this. People have said its like supporting your favourite football team. You support them through thick and thin. That is a fair point and I see where you are coming from. But even then I am not baised to believe my team (liverpool) is the best when they are clearly not. When they play bad I will say. I expect more. Why settle for mediocrity? Not saying Oasis do, but I just expect more as a fan, as I do from my football team.

Meaning Of Soul is a good tune Liams best tune so far is probs Songbird though. Little James is pretty shit.

Little James is pretty sh*t. lol, I so agree. "live for your toys, even though they make noise" What inivative lyrics there Liam. Not the best. Songbird is a tune though, my favourite from Liam.

That was absolute shocking cack. I dunno if any of you remember when SOTSOG first came out but all the reviewers loved that song...FAIR PLAY ITS BOBBINS LIKE. B
But it got him up and running. I think Liam should & could make a brilliant solo record without Noel (maybe Gem). He could make a proper punk album (if you can still do that in your 30's) becuase all his songs are short and punchy...
They used remixers for the first time with this album. Which is something they have never done and to be honest the falling down remix is rubbish the album version is great, so maybe there trying. Holding out for the remix Primal Scream have done that should be good!!

I did exactly the same thing as Liam when I started writing songs, just rhyming anything with everything, little james is shite, I write some shite, but after a while you learn to get more inventive, and Liam has, I've write about 30-40 songs over the year I've been writing, but I've discarded about 20 or so of them, because my early stuff was shite. He could be an awesome songwriter but I think that Noel will always have that mantel, and rightly so.

I dont know mate, I too write songs (for my own enjoyment really) and think when you rhyme any old words that sound the same I just think its lazy. Nothing seperating that from the Kaiser Chiefs, Fratellis, or any other mediocre band around. Its lazy and poor for me. Use your imagination. When bands for example rhyme something like "the cat sat on the mat, it took off its hat, it had a scratch on its back", to put it bluntly, its just shite. Where is their vocabulary and imagination? More to the point, where is the pride. I would hate to put out something like that. I am suprised Noel let Liam put the line "live for your toys, even though they make noise" into his song (although I bet he wouldnt of got anywhere if he had tried). Its a bit embarrasing.

benraul, it is embarassing, when I looked back at my old shite I write I feel like a dick, but I feel dead proud when I read my newer more inventive and articulate stuff.

antoine010891 - I meant no offence. I was not aiming that at you. I was aiming it at the people who are already established in the music industry. I think lyrical content is very important. You always here some people saying things like 'we wrote that in 10 minutes' and alot of the time you can tell from their lyrics. Not much thought has gone into it.
Obviously when you are starting off you are triyng to find your feet, and learn how to go about it. I have no doubt the stuff i first wrote would be w*nk. Its when artists are established I expect more than lazy writing.

Lyrical content is the sole for me, I can't write music, I sing to them, they have a tune, but no music to them, I think eventually they will cos' I'm teaching myself guitar, no one can write a good song in 10 minutes (the new oasis single was written quickly apparently, and you can tell), it takes at least a few hours to write good lyrics.

Noel let Liam put out Little James because he knew it was shit and Liam kept moaning about him never being allowed to put tunes no the albums so he did knowing it was shit..
I can't wait to hear this Solider On by Liam ment to be his best he ever wrote and it did get the final track on the album.
