I like all three of the new songs, "nothing on me" was written by Liam just so you all know. I would love to see Whitey return to Oasis but we all know that it is never going to happen.

really, take away definitely mayde and morning glory, what do you have left, aload of over hyped over rated average albums, they will never be the same again, look at the stone roses, the first album was brobably the best ever and the second coming was a let down, it aint easy to write so many works of art

To be fair the albums between Be Here Now and Don't Believe The Truth were shite, but there were some really good B-Sides on some of the singles. I just think they don't always put the best songs on the album!!

Does anyone get the impression that people love Oasis just because they think they are supposed to? If you use Definetly Maybe and Whats The Story as blueprints for Oasis, the albums that followed are a bit of a let down.
I know it gets a lot of stick but I really enjoy Be Here Now. Think it is a very good album. But from then on I am not so convinced. Oasis are king of the anthem. When you go to an Oasis gig there will be no short of sing-alongs and jump-around classics. I bet Shock of the Lightning will be class in a live environment, but I was disapointed when I heard chris Moyles play that song. Just a poorer version of what they used to do so well for me. Kele from Bloc Party said it best when he said, they claim to be inspired by the Beatles but, and this so saddens me, they have failed to grasp that the Beatles were about constant change and evolution.
Dont get me wrong, I am a big Oasis fan, and love seeing them live, and will continue to do so, but just think people jump on the bandwagon without really knowing the full backlog of songs they have made since the first two albums that does let them down a bit. If people did, I doubt they would still think Oasis are the be all and end all of British music. Its like when people talk about the Oasis V blur battle. People instantly dismiss Blur, when they are a fantastic band.
I have got to say though, that I am hard pushed to find an accoustic song written by Noel that I dont like. He is a master at this. Masterplan is class! Most bands would dream of having Noels b sides as their best songs. Its just the electric, fast paced songs he doesnt seem to get as right as he used to.

I don't think that Oasis missed the point with the Beatles being about evolvment, I just think that Noel's "too clever" to evolve so dramatically because he's frightened of alienating the fans they earned in such excess in the mid ninetees, however the substandard quality of a lot, but not in any wall all, of their recent tunes. But supporting Oasis is like supporting a rubbish football team, its about loyalty sadly. No matter how many rubbish albums they churn out your still living in hope that they'll do it again, and I think they might do. Weller did. Morrissey did. Oasis should.
They'll probably come up smelling of roses in the end as they did in the beginning, and aye at the end of the day they still had two of the greatest British albums of all time...and The Masterplan. Though they need to start putting the effort back in, its infuriating. Don't Believe The Truth had about 5 great songs, really great ones, its just a shame that theres a lot of rubbsih on there as well. Hmm I could argue with myself about this all day
