dya really think having all their influences on there is a good idea? dont seem that good to me duno why hmm Oh no, I wouldn't just fill a cover full of other bands logos / pictures
I'm just gathering peoples thoughts and ideas and will leave no stone unturned. The final packaging will be undecided until the final drafts for each is completed and then I may release them to see which one everyone likes.

yeah, you dont want it too be full of influences, just get a couple on there like, i like the map idea as well as my own idea bout the newspaper cuttings. a big like medley of all the ideas could probably be achieved. whatever the tracklisting is, its gotta start with aftershow

Don't make it too complicated Darren not if you want to run with 200 copies. Whats on the cd is more important. I wish you luck mate. I'll pay you over the odds for a copy because of the time and effort thats gone into it.
I don't think Mr Fray would have a problem he comes across as a bit of citizen smith type (without the daft hat) Power to the people...........and all that bollocks!!

Thanks again for the interest shown in this project.
Now for an update on my recent progress, as some of you are really getting involved ;D
The design and style is a real dilemma, to try and please everyone is hard work, so at the moment I have been concentrating on one style. With 3 possible styles to work on I've got a right hefty work load.
So I've been working on the 'Influences Sleeves' by gathering all my resources together and planning I have started to think how many influences we should have
I would like a pressing of 200 CD's, this will then be split into different sleeves, for example the first 100 could be influence sleeves, 25 of each influence and then the second 100 will be another style.
On the list of definite influences so far are The Smiths, The Stone Roses and James.
The Smiths: With so many cracking sleeves it was hard to find the right one, I could easily replicate them but that'll be no good or really original. An idea I had was to have a picture of The Smiths or Mozza in the same style as their sleeves, plain and simple.
The Stone Roses: I have been messing about with some designs but nothing really appeals to me yet so I'm thinking of having a competition for this one! Create your own Jackson Pollock that represents the band, it would be great for someone to have their work as a final sleeve.
James: I've not really started on this one, the only real thought I had is to have the simple daisy image with the James style font???
Just a quickie regarding the track listing. It would be good to have a 'bonus track' or something related to the influences. With Liam changing his lyrics to James' & The Roses lines recently, they could be included on the related influence CD. Would be even better if the band did cover version's for the CD but that would be a massive wish!
I know this wasn't much of an update but a lot of planning is involved so progress is slow. Still a hell of a workload to do and not enough time in a working day but I'll keep plodding along and give a better update when I have finished the influences sleeves.

So the all important 4th influence is yet to be decided....
...with the list growing from peoples suggestions this seems to be getting a lot of interest now ;D
The influences mentioned for the 4th sleeve are:
Oasis The Libertines The La's The Cribs The Jam The Streets
The band listed their influences on my space as: "The Smiths, John, Paul, George, Ringo, Cantona, pens, paper, Billy Liar, The Walkmen , Wigan Casino, Ms. Hepburn, The Cribs, The Oxford English Dictionary, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Jam, Fred Done, James, Is This It, Anthony Burgess, Interpol, Bootle Street, The Beans, The Kills, Purple Hearts, The Kinks, Stephen Fretwell, The Masterplan, Iggy and The Stooges,, Ms. Christie, The Twisted Wheel, Down and Out in Paris and London, Ian McEwan, The Concretes, Overdraft limits, lack of Overdraft limits, The summer of 2005, The summer of 2006, Polly Jean Harvey, The Pudding Club, Jean Jaques, Shudehill Bus Interchange, People who tell tales, People who tell stories, Danny from Bolton, Burnage Lane"A rather long list of a variety of music but does anyone know who is their favourite?
I'll keep this going until I need the 4th influence and then post a poll with the shortlist

Mmmm....
not really anything to post as less and less time has been dedicated to this project as late.
A lot of things have been put on hold due to my job and working away from home ( ) Not good at all! I have been offered a more local job so I've got to think about it
Back on subject - I'll really try and get this back on track as it's very interesting and exciting to think we could get our own CD and with so many members wanting it, that on it's own will spur me own to finish my hard work
