i'm not going to say much more on the matter, a 'forum only' gig is a crap idea. there's no point trying to become the hierarchy....just buy tickets for gigs when they are on actually on tour. if the band messed around doing 'forum only' gigs, then they'll never reach their full potential in record/ticket sales, its about appealing to everybody. you don't want restrictions on gigs...........if a fan brings a mate, who then buys the album and becomes a courteeners gig go-er of the future, then thats a bonus...that would never happen if the band were only doing gigs for a select audience.

well the forums arent big enough for it at the moment, theres only about 20 of us regulars now if that so 0 point.
and dec you make it sound like they were only gonna do forum gigs ever =p defo a one off if it happened, which it isnt going to and thats fine.

not a forum gig but maybe if they did a secret gig iin manc somewhere say moho live? then just posted on this forum, and rung round there mates. the word would get out if they did it a few weeks before and the demand would be there.

if it was somewhere tht small the demand would be overwhelming i think.

ruby lounge and moho are similar size venues, but i think ruby lounge has the more obvious links to the band....
it wouldn't be possible anyway. you are talking up 'secret gigs'....but you have to remember, this is a band that has sold out 2 nights at the apollo (7,000+ people over 2 nights). i've had the privilege of seeing them at the ruby lounge, and it just wouldn't be possible to put them on there now, the demand would be beyond mental.
just hold on till they tour!

other bands do it though, not that it means that the courteeners have to do it, but it does mean its possible.
i think courteeners could fill MEN now. maybe not other arenas but yeah, dunno if they would suit the venue though.

Courteeners couldn't fill the MEN.... They could sell out standing pretty easily, but who would want to go in seating to watch Courteeners? Only a select group of people would want to, but by no means enough. MEN Arena holds around 20,000....bare in mind seating tickets at the apollo gig sold fairly slowly and there was only like 2,000 of them. Just think what it would be like at the MEN, and it has 2 tiers. I don't want to get into the Gmex debate again either

there was a Gmex debate?
i just feel theyre bigger than the apollo in manchester. plus oasis get bums on seats n they dont really give much for the eyes.
your probably right though.

Yeah watching them from seating at the MEN would be crap. Plus how many people would pay 30 quid for a seat too. The forum idea does sound good but its probably just not possible.

think I was misinterpreted a bit, I didnt mean a gig just for us. as someone put before me, it woudl end up 20 people there so no point. but if there was a small gig liam could do, say the ruby lounge, that we could all go to ALONG WITH ALL OTHER FANS. then something like, the gig being for the S&C forum to raise awareness PERHAPS?? just give the place a massive nod, and a meet & greet after? not being the heirarchy or anyting silly like that. just acknowledging the support & lengths people behind this forum have gone to.

Look both ways, Sunny days, Jealousy, Never pays L x Hmmm... did you think these little bits Liam keeps adding to his messages are lyrics?? As for the forum gig discussion, I know what you mean regarding it wouldn't just be for S&C but even something like a forum awareness gig would never ever happen... Like the reply about booking the band/venue etc... who's ready for a whip round
