Apologies if there is a topic in a similar vein to this but I couldnt see one, but I know they are a few guitar player on her like myself so thought would be nice to have an area to talk about all things guitars.
Electric, acoustic. Good songs to play. Techniques & tips. Equipment etc..............................
I've been playing for a couple of years but only serious since summer of 2009, generally play stuff like Oasis, The Courteeners, Kasabian & The Beatles. Can play a tiny little bit of piano & bass too.
Guitar wise, I have a Fender Strat in Olympic White which is brand new and I love it, got an Epiphone EJ-200CE (Natural) acoustic guitar and a Les Paul copy (made by a brand called Vintage) and thats Cherry Sunburst and pretty cool.
Also started writing my own stuff recently, really enjoy doing that despite that I cant sing to save my life.

there has been one but this is fine since the other died. them are the guitars i use and this is my amp; good to hear that your writing your own stuff, definitely the best way to move forward. love playing stuff by muse obviously, and also anything from rush or also with tom morello (rage against the machine) in. on acoustic its usually fretwell or radiohead stuff. never tried playing much oasis bar songbird and masterplan.

I love them Orange amps, I have one of the mini ones only about 3 watts. The amp I use is a Line 6 Spider 3, really nice but range of sounds isnt great so Im gonna buy a multi effects pedal.
I really like the new muse material, last two albums really! Probably gonna have a look at some of their stuff on the guitar. The nearest i've got at the moment is playing Knights of Cydonia on Guitar Hero haha

These are the 2 of my 4 guitars that I speak of. I've also got a crap Strat copy which was my first guitar, and it's crap and I hate it. And got a half decent copy of a Gibson es-175, archtop like and it's alright. But these 2, the first one I got because the reviews were mega, won a reward for best acoustic under £500 couple of years ago, and at £89 it's a fucking bargain, worth every penny twice over, fucking blinding guitar. And the Eko on the second picture, was made in 1962, got it off ebay for £59, well worth the moeny again, it's only 3/4 size and it's a classical and supposed to be played like one, but I always wanted an old guitar so got it, intending to one day teach myself classical guitar Favourite stuff to play, La's stuff of course on my acoustic, forever tuning around, down a step etc etc just to know what it sounds like, good fun. Timeless Melody played how it should be, in A and not in G like that shite album version, soudns amazing. Play alot of Courteeners because it's easy, loveing playing Falcon at the minute, particularly Sycophant and Rest Of The World Has Gone Home. Oasis stuff on acoustic, love playing Masterplan, it's easy, and just in general a mint song to play. The odd Beatles tune, tthey are generally easy chords to put together, A Day In The Life is great, when you can transpose between the 2 different parts of the song. That's about it, the odd other band here and there but them generally.

Oh yes, love a good thread like this. Using pictures off Google Images, here's my stash: Epiphone Casino - Cherry Red Fender Mexican Telecaster - Greenish Epiphone EJ160E John Lennon Acoustic through a Fender 212R Amp 100 Watts Classic. Biggest influence on guitar is probably Paul Weller, hugely underrated guitarist. Bit of Johnny Marr and also Pete Townsend and all, hard not to find him an influence if you're a fan. Prefer playing good rythm to lead guitar, like to throw in a bit of ska and glam rock as well as what you'd all expect like.

Only reason I started is because of what Liam said in that C4 interview. Go to gigs and play guitar. Now I've started getting to as many gigs as I'm allowed and started playing, really really want to play at a good level.

I were going to get an EJ200, went into the shop with the cash last summer and everything, but that Lennon one were on the wall, not often you see them knocking about either, had a play on it, changed my plea to guilty and bought it there and then! Top guitars though the EJ200's, massive sound

yeah they are really nice to play and the quality of them is really good too, I was after one of those Lennon ones too or i like the hummingbird that Liam Fray has been using recently. But I dont think Epiphone make a copy and no way do I have a couple of grand spare.
I'm just sorting playing loads at the moment and trying to get better. Would love to meet a few people my age with similar interests and start up a band and see where it goes!
