I actually have it Kind of the same with Doherty though, I loved Throwing My Arms Around Paris and never really got into the album itself properly.

I don't think I have a top 5 but if I did most have been mentioned.....
one album I did like however is one that a few people may disagree with me about
Kingdom Of Rust - Doves
its not an album that straight away grabs you, its defo a grower but it was great to have whilst revising, chilled me out when I hit the wall with the mass of work etc
they're easily as good as elbow too if not better, underated band, if they had won a mercury award they would have a much bigger following, as with elbow!

Very raw and angry, can't get enough of it. Listen to "Something Is Squeezing My Skull"," "I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris", "All You Need Is Me", "When Last I Spoke to Carol" and "It's Not Your Birthday Anymore" if you fancy a taster, my personal favourites.

I'm not after a childish internet argument, I tried to word myself carefully to avoid something like that, no need to resort to that kind of thing over music is there? I'm just saying I think you're very quick to sl*g things off and throw heavy words around for music you don't like, you speak in a very matter-of-fact way that if you don't like something, it is bad and primitive and that the fans of that band or artist are in some way wrong, it just annoys me

cmon thats what forums are all about. to be fair in that comment you question i did say bored me, not it is boring, and that i couldnt see the album changing my mind, it was hardly matter-of-fact.

I'll back you up Luke, it was opinionated, no matter-of-fact about it. Of course opinions are what forums are for

in your defence fergal, im sure your not used to people criticising brown, morrissey AND gallagher all at once without being ignorant. cmon fergal what happened to when we used to respect the others opinion?

It wasn't that comment that annoyed me, it was a lot over a period of time and I possibly did sensationalise my point, however respecting people's opinions is what I'm doing, it's what I'm here for, I'm not bothered what anyone likes really, it doesn't have anything to do with me - it's just occasionally when talking about bands like Oasis you make out that the fans are in the wrong and must be brain dead luddites to like the band, that your opinion is gospel and that your authority is superior without giving some reasons and I just think it contradicts the point of arguing about music. I didn't say anything to kick things off, I've better things to do with my time to start petty arguments on internet forums and I'm sure you do too, I'm merely stating my annoyance.
