I like that a lot, especially the first two lines are great. It's a bit of a cliche but it's definitely something I can relate to. It always seem to be the way that music rather than anything else is there to comfort you in the sad times. Saying that it may not necessarily be sadness?

Not sure who it's about tbh, usually about me but not this one. It's about a guy who it trying to tell people what to do but going the wrong way about it, and they are all leaving him because he's doing everything wrong, and he doesn't feel loved or cared about la.

The convulsive shaking. the constant faking. I know you're worried I'm just fed up.
It's always regret. Refusal to forget. I know you're worried. I'm just fed up.
The full body aches.
I'm sorry. i can't finish this.

Are we all into poetry then or is this just somewhere for it to be shown? I write quite frequently, it's usually just a random verse or two and things don't really get finished. I'll look at posting some stuff when it's all sorted.
What are people's favourite poets then?

I don't read poetry, never have, but writing it is my favourite past time. It's basically my life, it's my way of getting away from everything and getting everything out, and as these lot could tell you, I sometimees over-think it and let it get to my head, go wacky and go reclusive for a while trying to be amazing

This is the Poets Corner. So yeah. But there's only really Me, Luke and Ant who post stuff. Connor often joins in with a comment. Usually sarcastic or funny. He's a funny little laddy. Haha. But yes. Poetry is all on here. Check back over the pages. There's some great stuff out there. Mostly from dontask (Luke) and Ant. My favourite poet is Stanley Donwood or Robert Browning. I dunno. I just read some poems and love them. But mainly it's Muse or Stanley Donwood who inspire me. Or Laura Marling. I'm not a fan of rhyme though. And my poems are often crap and senseless. Haha. You should post though. We don't have many active poets. It's sad. I'm Alice btw. x

Yeh, most inspiration comes from music. If I can pin point any inspiration for my words, then perhaps alot of U2 lyrics inspire me, but that's about it. More recently John Power, and reading alot of interviws with Lee Mavers inspires me, he talks wacky but it all makes sense to me, I empathise with him. But go ahead, and post. We need more people

Yeah, I have a lot of respect for people who can put what they're thinking into words. I don't really put a huge amount of commitment into my work but I do occasionally write. I love poetry through, doing a literature A Level does help though. Nothing contemporary really interests me, I studied Carol Ann Duffy, our current laureate, who I found pretty terrible. I particularly like T.S. Eliot, Keats, Philip Larkin and Emily Dickinson. Music wise, yes, I am a big fan of the La's and I also like John Cooper Clarke, who is brilliant. My teacher thinks that they will be studying Morrissey's lyrics in years to come, so yeah, I think he ticks both boxes for music and poetry. and hello Alice

No, it was the majority of Duffy's poems but the World's Wife was part of it. I did find those quite interesting though, especially Queen Kong. That was with Sheenagh Pugh's poetry, who was equally boring and Oleanna by David Mamet.
This year is King Lear, Oedipus and William Blake poetry. It's closed book though, which is pretty daunting.

English critic?
When do you ever do the majority of things you learn at school in life? I've never used anything I did in Science, Maths or Geography since I left school. English is great though, think about the nine hour week at University ;D
