The Courteeners will play a very special live gig on Friday 11th December at Manchester Central (formerly G Mex). This exclusive one off date will be the largest the band have ever played and promises to be a truly amazing evening with support from very special guests Buzzcocks and The Whip. Liam: "Trying to keep this show a secret since we confirmed a month ago, has been tough to say the least. Headlining Manchester Central at Christmas time, with Buzzcocks and The Whip in support - how are you supposed to keep that quiet? For me it's the beginning of the next Chapter in our story, just before our next record is released. It's almost a year since we played the Apollo gigs in Manchester, so we've been building up to this for a long time. Come December, we'll be ready to explode. I can't wait. Merry F***king Christmas! LJF x" Tickets go on sale 9.30am this Friday 4th September at www.gigsandtours.com / www.ticketmaster.co.ukThe band are currently in the studio working on their second album. Stay tuned to www.thecourteeners.com for updates from the studio.

I might do the same Ant. I've only seen the gmex once and that was through the window of the Hilton so I'll probably get lost walking.
