How did you get into the band originally? thought this might be interesting to find out. sorry if there is a thread same as this already i searched and couldnt find one.
i basically wanted to buy my best mate tickets to see a band for her birthday but we have completley different taste. i looked on her facebook through her list of favourite bands and typed them in ticketmaster to see if any were touring at the time, a lot of the bands i already vaguely knew and was pretty sure i'd despise seeing but i had no idea who the courteeners were and they were touring so i thought f*ck it ... lets go for something i've never heard in my life.
bought st.jude a few weeks before the gig and turns out i DID know some of their songs already especially No You Didn't No You Don't which got played at work all the time ... and i bloody loved the album. Went to see them and was blown away with how fantastic they were and how charasmatic Liam was on stage.
Then found out they were supporting Stereophonics to which i already had tickets and the rest is history ...

XFM - Manchester
then blown away at the warrington parr hall gig, couldn't believe how good they were live and how many songs I could sorta remember afterwards
everyone in the crowd knew the words to every song so obviously there was a bit of downloading goin on etc so I was determined to find das much as I could by them etc which lead me to here!

I woke up one morning for work to hear Acrylic on XFM manchester, simple as that. I bsically raved about it for months to come until WTYSL? I was really unsure about buying the album though, simply because I'd only heard 3 tracks and I was worried, but the gamble payed off, best decision I've ever made. You can run from love, but if it's really love it will find you, catch you by the heal.

it was about this time last year, before NNF was released, there was a big media plug & i picked up on them through that. couldnt stop playing NNF, & if i remmeber rightly there was a gap between NNF being released & st jude coming out. i then bought tickets to see them at the astoria, something ive never done so soon after hearing a new band for the first time. ive listened to bands like the cribs & babyshambles but never really felt the urge to go & get tickets. but after hearing NNF & b-sdie smiths disco, i felt i had to go see them. then when st jude arrived, i realied i was going to see them so many more times. in the last year seen them 9 times.

Heard WTYSL on Zane and was blown away - randomly they were playing my local indie club - got tickets got a load of others in on the crack and was blown away...met liam......and the obsession and stalking began.
Reckon I must be responsible for a good few albums sales - used to work in local pub so always had it on in there plus everyone I know knows how obsessed I am!

read about them in MEN paper on the train in around jan 07. then went to see them later on in blackburn in sep 07. then the rest is history. once again...money, transport and age restricted me seeing them earlier on.....academy 3, acrylic video etc...

Heard about them quite a bit but never actually heard any of their songs. My mate asked me if I wanted to go see them at LIFE cafe but I was busy that night. Managed to see them a month later at Academy 3 (July 07). Seen them another 14 times after that.

Seems that getting into them when Acrylic was released is fairly late compared to some of you, like Dec getting into them in January 07', which in itself is fairly brave, I usually just dismiss any bands I read about in papers nowdays, so great that you stuck with them.

Its good when you see bands early and you actually witness them growing. I saw Twisted Wheel for the first time in December 07 and have watched them grow and grow this past year.
