Andy, I bet the NME won't say the same thing now would they, best since Live Forever, haha.

I cant actually remember it was a just before Cavorting tho i think i might have seen a little bit in the NME. I'm gutted coz they played the Castle in Oldham a few times and i never saw them unlike Twisted Wheel, who I have seen a number of times there even when they were in The Children. Anyway first time i watched them was XFM's winter wonderland loved them!

not sure exact date/month etc, but saw the small nme write up, on upcoming bands and the smiths reference made me take note, so i myspaced them to listen further, cavorting was just about to be released, that track blew me away and still does. At some of the early gigs met 2 chaps called crofty and steve, they saw the courteeners from the very start, when liam was on his own, they had been to 50+ gigs, 2 top lads, but sadly not seen them at the recent gigs..

The little guitar piece in the middle and end of Cavorting. First time I heard it reminded me of Stuart Adamson(big country) guitar playing, whos style and sound I like. Then one listen led to another and so on. The line about rattling eyeballs put a smile on my face too.

My Dad works with Conan's Dad.
So when he mentioned his son was in a band, I investigated and as they say "the rest is history"! ;D

my sister was writing an article about new British bands for her work, and i helped her look for bands through myspace and MTV. I've got pretty bored from the music i was listening to that time, and i wanted something new. the couteeners were fresh and fun, and i really loved their sound. it was truly love at first sight.
there arent alot of good bands coming to visit israel, which is where i live, so all you guys living in great britain should use the fact that there are such good bands and artists near you. if i lived in england, i would go to a concert every week.
