the problem is, you lot may all think there, good but alot of people might disagree like, so you get millions of people buying lady gagas album but this doesnt enter the top 75? i think this is a bad example of the genre that isnt exactly the most popular at the moment anyway. for that reason i think with the cribs, babyshambles, courteeners this genre is full n i dont see any room for twisted wheel. I don't agree, its very difficult for a genre to be "full" - the bands you mentioned haven't released albums in the last 12 months and I believe there is still and always will be a gap for a really good guitar band of that style as its very universal music, however I don't believe Twisted Wheel are in any way that band and, shoot me down if you wish, for once I am sort of inclined to agree with the rating that the NME gave the album . . .

yes but what i mean is, there is no room for lacklustre bands in the genre. like when the whole klaxons day-glo shit took off new rave n that there was room for gash bands like late of the pier. do ya see?
and string 3 chords together shouldnt make a guitar band.

the album doesnt offer enough quality in my opinion, their single releases from the album have been pretty poor aswell. lucy the castle is an ok song, but is nowhere near to becoming a crowd puller. as for 'we are us', it hasnt really appealed to me too much. the 2nd verse in that song is terrible, one of the worst set of lyrics iv seen. a while back i was well impressed when tunes like you stole the sun, racket, strife, shes a weapon and smash it up were made available, good set of songs as a newish band.

a while back i was well impressed when tunes like you stole the sun, racket, strife, shes a weapon and smash it up were made available, good set of songs as a newish band. yh what made those tunes attractive was that they sounded a bit different. You Stole The Sun was simply about a bloke nabbing the sun, (not heard that before) and racket in particular even sounded sort of country-western at times, with the rhythm guitar if you know what i mean. and they didn't exactly have regular verse-chorus-verse patterns either. but when they released lucy the castle, and we are us after that, there was a noticeable different in sound. it was punkier and heavier, which although decent enough imo, left them bereft of the slight ingenuity they had before. it had already been done and was no longer interesting.

the we are us lyrics are pretty dodgy, the earlier demos are class and definately worth checking out
I personally think the label has told them to make songs like lucy the castle & we are us to 'sell more records' which in the end may have screwed them over
There are however really good songs on the album, bouncing bomb is an ok acoustic and whats your name, bad candy, she's a weapon, let them have it all are all class

the official chart position was 45 for the album, i stand corrected as i thought it wasnt in the top 75, so sorry on that front. still not good enough tho

top 45 for columbia probably still won't be good enough
will be interesting to see how much of a chance they give TW
will be a sign of the times if they do get dropped as soon as, but I don't think they will, they've invested a fair bit a money i'm guessin in TW, so at least another single or two will come out
I remember johnny sayin they recorded a song called 'tell the world' in LA when they went back to put 'oh what have you done' on the album so my guess would be that

if theyve gone this far pumping money into them, then they might aswell try to get something out of it! lets just hope for both parties sake, that the oasis gigs at the stadiums boost them all round.

but think of who twheel are supporting, there supporting oasis, so they should get a few fans from that, i think their record label may stay with them for a few more years to see if they get big!

lot of oasis fans who arent usually into guitar music, might work against them in tht respect.

they will stick by them i think
just because they are supporting oasis doesn't guarantee extra fans, people may see them and think they're crap (doubt it tho ha)
