while i mostly agree with what he says its just the opinion from our camp really. as for the swipe at the killers i think its a little harsh, just cus he feels the need to act like an everyday man while creating great songs like falling down it doesnt mean the killers should with a class track like spaceman.

I didn't understand the part about the killers, but I don't care for them to be honest. I don't understand what he said about KOL thuogh, what have they done wrong?

What KOL have done is by trying to break America they have sold out with this 4th album.
Sub standard radio friendly tunes is what this album consists of. I was mightily disapointed when I got it. Tried my best to get into it but cant.
Def praying for a return to form for the next.

I dont think they would do that..they love the brits (we have far more taste than the yanks) I just found it half arsed and a bit wet...it reminded me of U2!!

its not a sell out i dont think. or if it is its not a bad thing. it is VERY clearly a shot at becoming stadium rock giants and ian summed it up by saying it sounded like u2.
thing is, they have the tunes but like oasis in my opinion they dont have the personality that goes well with stadiums. read a review of a MSG (arena i know) gig and they had nothing other than flashing pictures in the background, you can say its all about the tunes but live your watching a band as well as listening if you ask me.

yeah I agree with that, they dont have a big personality in the band like Noel, Liam, Moz or say Tom from kasabian, the lead singer drones on.....That dosn't matter one bit!! But there music live more than makes up for it as far as I'm concerned..I would still pay to see they live, they are one of the best live acts about now...good musicains and passionate about there music and what they do.
BUT THAT ALBUM!!!.....I'm sorry but a bit of a dent in an otherwise problem free career!!

so would i but i'd say theyre music is more suited to appolo sized venues. not meant as an insult.
tom from kasabian is quality frontman, him at 53 degrees will make march bearable.

I can agree with Ian, KOL basically tried to be to public domain and popular music rather than doing what they do best, just to get sales, and the 4th album is without doubt the weakest of the 4. All the promise aswell The difference between them and U2, is that U2 were once huge stadium rock stars, and will be remembered as one of the best bands at doing so, but KOL tried to hard to create them loud chanty tunes with all the hooks that will be good in stadiums, and it did not work. It isn't a terrible thing not being suited to small venues, it's just that KOL cannot justify it at all, The Courteeners will never be a stadium rock band, it doesn't suit them, but as long as you don't try to make yourself one and f*ck up then it can only be a good thing.

get my a-level results, that n theres nothing going on other than the kasabian gig, n myself playing with my mate at his 18th which is plain daunting.
edit: sounds about right ant, u2 are stadium rock but thats what theyre suited for, they have some class light shows and tunes suited for it. kings of leon were never that and have tried too hard to become it.
