With the tour only a month away and tickets having been on sale for a while I thought I'd get the ball rolling by starting up a thread for anyone going to the tour. I thought I would split the dates down and then add info related to the gig/venue/photos etc. I'm currently looking at each date trying to find out if there will be any radio coverage of the gigs - so I may as well add other bits & bobs as I go along
- 19th March 2009
Univ of Buffalo Center for the Arts, Buffalo 19:00
Capacity: 1,744 Seats
Coverage I've been looking but found nothing!

Coverage The venue has it's own radio station but I haven't had a listen to see what the shows are for yet.

Would be great to hear from all you fans from across the pond. Post anything about your upcoming venture. How much were your tickets? Easy to get hold of? Tell us about the venue - an inside venue photo would be great What are you expecting from The Courteeners? Please please please post any links to radio stations that will be streaming/broadcasting the gigs OR you know of any Morrissey tapers out there Anything at all really, as long as it's related & keep the subject text as the venue/date your posting about please

Just finished finding all the links for the venues etc. It took longer than I thought as I got carried away looking into the earlier gigs! Don't know if tickets are still available for all the dates though??? Most of the 'Find Tickets' links are to ticketmaster. Gagging to find some info on live streaming/broadcasting! My search continues Noticed on last.fm under Mozza's artist page>on tour link quite a few shouts from people attending, so I'm thinking of hitting them with a nice message from S&C - Watch out I'm coming to get ya! Also been thinking of another myspace/facebook campaign for the tour - so I'll be working on something this week, first thought really so I think it'll be something like the last tour; Adverts to promote the tour/S&C & a flyer to download. Thinking about it now, maybe the DL flyer could have a giveaway for those who sign-up to S&C from the US tour??? Will think about it (yer know it's going to be a badge) As you can see I'm getting all excited about this - I'm going to get a lot worse yet

Any reason you're not noting the headline date on St. Pat's day at Mercury Lounge in NYC, probably going to be the best venue, most accesible, and longest set of the tour barring other one-off headline dates along the way?

;D You answered your own question there - "Headline" was the key word mate - Sorry but this is just for their support with Mozza. You'll find another thread going on with their other U.S. dates

Back to subject, it seems like Mozza is struggling at the moment with a throat infection He has had to cancel dates in the U.S. and it was though the tour is already in crisis?? Has anyone heard anything else? Let's hope everything gets back on track ready for 'our lads' support dates

That aint good, I hope he doesn't have to cancel the whole tour, that will be a huge let down.

Yes sir it definitely would be a let down but totally unavoidable - I've been looking around the mozza solo forums & there seems to be a mixed reaction to the cancellations... ...with the announcements only be made the day of the gigs, it's virtually imposable to inform everyone and that will obviously cause upset with the Americans, especially with the long travelling issues they face. I know that all the gigs (apart from 1/2 a gig) have been cancelled so far - I'm keeping an eye out on the next few days to see how things are getting on One thing to note though, I noticed that the support band from a few of the cancelled gigs DID play, so you never know, if moz has to cancel more maybe The Courteeners will still play? Anyone know if the lads have flown out yet? Or when they fly out?

I really doubt that if Moz aint playing the lads will, no one would turn up if it was only them, it's really a shame though.

people have paid to see morrissey, courteeners may announce a few more gigs whilst on the tour....it all depends on whether mozza recovers and gets going.

this was posted on his blog on march 5th..
A note from Morrissey on Tour of Refusal "I have survived the interrogation of Atlanta's Immigration officials and Myrtle Beach shall have me tomorrow nite (Friday), and the world from then onwards ... if the world can take it. One of the many penalties of being human is that tours often take a military push to start, well, all of our answers will be in our songs tomorrow night. The bloodbath starts at 7.30. Life is testing you out. Be ready for anything."

I reckon Mozzer will recover, but the next week will really determine that. If his throats cleared up by this time next week, everything will be sorted until at least the end of the US leg... if not then I think the rest of the tour is in jeapordy
