just thinking, if there off on tour with morrisey at end of february until end of april, doesnt leave much time for recording the album. i was hoping to see it out for the summer, but looks like it will be towards end of 09 now?
also, before they go off to the us, does anyone think they might play a few warm up shows?

I hope they play warm up shows, but it would be late notice now. I think that the album could be out in the summer, back april, record for 2 months and out by end of july. Oooh, just in time for my Bday

im hoping for a few warm up gigs, would make sense... i also dont think the album will come out in july, cus if u think about it....its a crap time to release it, rite in the middle of the festivals. id say october, to coinside with a uk tour. i think theyl come back from the mozza stuff, start doing it in april, have it finished for june, then ready for the festivals.

Aaah, so record before festivals, do festivals, release in autumn. Maybe.
What I found interesting, on wikipedia (i know it's very unreliable) it mentions that Tryin to hard to Score may be on the next album, what do you think?? Not about whether it's true or not, do you think it would be a good idea??

I don't think trying too hard to score will be on the album, want new songs not a B-side album (yet)
Its a great song but not for the new album
I agree that the album will probably come out after October sometime, hopefully before 2010
Got to do some warm up gigs before though, its been too long! haha

they best not rush it chances are it will be poor if they do. The only reason bands rush a second album is because they dont want to be out of the public sportlight

don't think the band will do many festivals. They will just take that time to get the album together then tour in October along with the album being released.

I'm not sure when the 2nd album will be released now, seems like there is a bit of a rift with the label?? If this is true then I can't fault Liam for standing up to them - Who wants fucking Snow Patrol songs!!
Well, Snow Patrol fans ;D
According to XFM > from The Star:
The Courteeners: Label “Want Snow Patrol Songs”
Courteeners singer Liam Fray has hinted there’s a little friction between the band and the label over the direction of their new album. Although nine songs have been written, Fray isn’t sure that he and the label will see eye-to-eye on the choices of singles.
"There’s nothing wrong with St Jude but this time I want things to evolve," Fray told The Star. "I've got nine songs at least. Some sound in my head like singles, but they probably won't to the label's ears. They want Snow Patrol songs."
He also said that the band have three songs that will almost definitely feature on the record.
"There are three songs that will almost certainly make the album, 'Bojangles', which we've played live, 'Revolver', which is just mega, and 'Three Months', about how three months is the point in a relationship where you can tell if it's got a future or not."
While there are no plans to enter the studio just yet, Liam has at least begun to think about who will produce the record.
"I'm not sure what's happening with producers. It might be Stephen Street again, or someone new."

They did intially say they wanted the album out for Summer...that may still be achievable despite the Moz support slot. Sometimes rushing can be good, Morning Glory was recorded in just over a week

Trying To Hard To Score shouldnt be on new album i dont think, it's St Jude all over. i think record new album when they get back from US, do the festivals, short break, then album release and full on UK tour!

Suppose new tracks would be great, things they haven't even played live, all I heard before St Jude was Acrylic WTYSL and Fallowfield.
And really, the label must hate the band to want snow patrol songs, I don't care if the public like it, if it's something the band don't like then it is stupid releasing it, remember the La's, despite how picky they were they didn't want the album released and they were effectively killed. Do as the band say, they are the experts.

I think trying too hard to score could be a goer.. its a beltin tune, one of my personal faves. Plus, its only a b-side on one of the vinyls which is such a shame.
Maybe an updated re-recorded version or whatever... who knows?! I don't think its a prob that it has been a b-side already coz there's one (or more?) on St Jude that was originally b-sides.

im not too sure.im not sure the band actually like playing that song as they only played it for one tour then sacked it for the tour with the phonics & played Bojangles. The only songs that are for definate are Bojangles & Revolver.i seen another mentioned someplace but have forgotten the name.
