Simply Red?! And the Beatles as well then Fastfuse. They've used From me to You in a John Lewis ad recently. They certainly haven't lost any credibility in my eyes because of it. I also don't think of the National Lottery whenever I hear Waterfall by the Roses. Do I need to go on? Well ok then, the Charlatans Can't Get Out Of Bed was recently used in a Benylin ad, and godlike geniuses New Order in that Indesit washing machine ad. Once the band actually changed the words to Blue Monday for a Fanta advert! It's true. Erm, Velvet Underground were used in a Volvo ad, & let's not forget Jack White and that Coke ad. There's more, I just can't remember them right now. I cant remeber the roses being used for the lottery? I can remeber the sample from Bitter Sweet Symphony being used in a car advert. I didnt say Acrylic wasn't used and I didnt say no other band had every sold there arse or a few £££........So I dont get your point. I just think its tacky and a bit sh*t.....thats it

The band have more integrity than that. Acrylic is a f**k**g good song! And the more people who get to hear it, the better, in my book.
It was in no way, shape, or form "tacky". I don't think they'd exploit something they made in that way, where would be the gain?

its all a bit elitist isnt it all this "Selling out" talk.
who gives a f*ck if the songs used in an advert.
"hello sir, your song will be used in an advert for education, you will get money"
fucking hell its common sense.
get over it, the fact is you should be chuffed that a song you love is on telly, meaning you can listen to it more! Haha, and its all exposure.

Exactly, it is common sense. It's not like they were doing fucking ice land adverts, like Kerry Katona!

Integrity??....I really think thats the wrong word to use when discussing a band using there song on an advert for a mobile phone company......I never said Arcylic was sh*t song, if your going to disagree with me at least read my post before you do??? In my view its tacky and untill someone can give me a a good enough reason to change my mind its going to stay that way. You lot take things far to seriousley....its an opinion thats all.

Why is integrity the wrong word to use? I'm trying to say they have more sense than to just flog their songs off and to try to pull every stint in the book, they're worth more than that. An educational advert, and a vodaphone one, which i do believe was based around music, that was all. It wasn't a tacky Iceland advert or some crap! And how about you read my post, i didn't say that "you thought the song was shit". I simply said i thought it was "fucking good".

Because when you sell your arse to the "MAN" you lose all integrity. How can you say they have more "sense than to flog there songs off" thats what they've done, hopefully they wont do it again!!
It dosn't matter what company your advertising its still cheap second rate Shed 7 shite I dont have a problem with vodaphone....in fact I have a vodaphone contract........Like Liam does!!!
Why did you feel the need to tell me how good the song is?......I know how good it is!!

And again, I said that in my opinion it was a "fucking good song", we're really going 'round in circles here. They allowed one of their "fucking good songs" to be the background music on an avert based around music, no? And they allowed another one of their "fucking good songs" to the the background music on an educational advert. I can really see the shame in that.

You cant see the shame in it, fine. I can. It just says to me (rightly or wrongly) that there not selling any records and they need the extra cash and yeah it is a good fucking song.....WELL DONE
I was aware of the educational advert also. Thats a great idea!!!!

This is getting really, really funny now! You're really stooping that low and comparing record sales?
Especially since you dimissed this point ......

fuse i agree with lovemusic im afraid. theres a big difference between iceland or butter adverts than there is education and vodafone music. not every band can do an oasis and keep it out of stuff but while were on the subject "morning glory" is in "goal" a very shite football film focused around newcastle united. enough said i believe. i know you didnt say a word about oasis but i cant think of any bands that would completely take their stuff out of the media.

In which case fastfuse, I apologize for the misinterpretation.
I just don't understand your whole point, they lend two brilliant songs to two opposing companies who wanted to use their songs, they didn't do anything out of taste and they are continuously increasing exposure, yet they're getting scrutinized for it?
Good grief, it seems like they can't do right for doing wrong!
