Yeah I heard that last night ;D Could really get the band a lot more recognition, did the same for other (shit) bands - nothing more than they deserve if it moves them to the next level

did suite the advert, I saw it and waited for someone else to mention it on here, I were at my cousins when it was on and he liked it, yet never heard of the band.
Also, if you haven't noticed, WTYSL is on an education advert about science and maths.

Yeah it was a really good song choice.
I haven't yet seen the science one, not too desperate though.

Sinse when has flogging your bands name and songs to a multinational company become cool??
Sorry, but this is rubbish.....its no better than Brittney Spears and Justin Timberlake doing Pepsi adverts!!
The educational one is good....Thats encouragment to young people who might not be arsed its great.
But as for Vodaphone, I hate to say......SELLOUTS.

i critisized lydon for his butter adverts yeah fair enough, courteeners are not punk, as far as im concerned if its abit of extra cash in their pockets and abit of extra exposure then no harm done. as long as they dont start doing music for man city or liverpool then it aint too bad.

You might think it's flogging, and it is fastfuse, but it is nice to hear them on an advert, just good having good music on adverts. Seems to be cider adverts with the good songs now days.

The thing is when you like a tune and they use it on an advert. Thats all you think of when you hear it!!
They seem to have joined the relms of take that & simply red

Simply Red?! And the Beatles as well then Fastfuse. They've used From me to You in a John Lewis ad recently. They certainly haven't lost any credibility in my eyes because of it. I also don't think of the National Lottery whenever I hear Waterfall by the Roses. Do I need to go on? Well ok then, the Charlatans Can't Get Out Of Bed was recently used in a Benylin ad, and godlike geniuses New Order in that Indesit washing machine ad. Once the band actually changed the words to Blue Monday for a Fanta advert! It's true. Erm, Velvet Underground were used in a Volvo ad, & let's not forget Jack White and that Coke ad. There's more, I just can't remember them right now.

I'm not big on tunes being used in adverts though a lot of times the band has no control over advert use, for instance the Beatles don't anymore. I've always been impressed that I've neer seen an Oasis tune in an advert

i thought the velvet underground volvo advert was brilliant!
honestly it doesnt bother me at all with songs, its promotion, every band needs it somewhere.
i can see why it might annoy someone else though.
