Beat me to it dontask, there has been 3 parts to it going through the ages, really interesting. Last nights was the best simply because it was more modern players. Marr was showing us how he made the 'how soon is now' riff distorted, with some pedal thing, and he said why he plays chords string by string rather than strum it, he says that he finds it more compelling and stuff. Another interesting part was when they went to see the edge from U2, he was going on about all the different buttons and shit that he has to made sounds go all crazy, he puts like an echo on 'Where the streets have no name' and pressed some pedal to get that wierd sound on 'elevation'. All a little technical for me but very interesting.
Btw, if you have virgin media then it will be on catch up soon, they always have BBC stuff on it.

Aye, I only managed to watch last night's programme. I'm a mass hater of rock excess and raping a fretboard so a lot of that annoyed me, had me cringing like, but the stuff with Johnny Marr (master), The Edge and Pete Townsend was class, everyone else came across as a cock really! Particularly Malcom McLaren and Matt Bellamy!

But to be fair to him out of muse he could fucking play, some of those clips from wembley were really good, still not keen on the group but, i have a new found respect for him!!
Johnny Marr was class just how he took some really simple chords and changed them and made them sound totally diffrent.....brilliant!!!
Edge was good too, proper geek with the biggest rig i've ever seen!!! It was like blackpool!!

aye i saw all 3 aswel. theyve been quite interesting especially that dude with the 2 fingers, what a nutter. but i know what you mean about the mass ripping, just like playing brilliant just cus you can style, its why i'll never really get into metal. nice to see fastfuse with the open mind though, and i thought everyone came across okay apart from the host.

I watched it with an open mind and I like quite a few of the bands who's members came across as tossers on it

Only really watched it for Johnny Marr just a shame they didn't have Page on or Richards for that matter.

Page is the best living guitar player followed by Richards/Marr and it's not like Led Zep didn't get fucked out their faces on tour as well.

As ace as Keith Richards is he was probably left off as he wasn't that innovative...all the guitarists featured, love them or loathe them, were innovators of their craft and arguably Keith Richards isn't, though few can craft a finer song than Jagger and Richards!
