Nicked straight from Myspace:The Guardian are running a brand new award for the best new debut British album. There's quite strict criteria for the awards, but the Courteeners' debut album St. Jude fits in perfectly. We just need you the fans to vote for it! You can vote via email by simply sending your choice, and a few words on why you love it, to the following address: first.album@guardian.co.uk Voting ends at the end of the month so get your votes in now. Come on everyone lets give something back to the band send that email now!

My email to the Grauniad:
I am 31. I am mancunian. I have albums by The Smiths, New Order, The Stone Roses, Oasis, Elbow and Doves and I honestly thought the times of being really and truly excited by a new band from my town had passed. The Courteeners proved me wrong. Along with getting married and United winning the European Cup I will remember 2008 for St. Jude...that's how important it is to me.
Thank you.

smashin. Funny if they do win after the review, how ironic would that be. It wouldn't half rub it in the face of the fucking stupid reviewer.
