i was happy to see pink at no.1 rather than shock of the lightning.
and i agree with ben im afraid. definitely not the best ive seen from the band. although i think if NYDNYD has been released before the album (instead of N19F perhaps) it would have top 10'd. you can say it doesnt matter but the charts are still a sure fire sign of a growing band, see kings of leon hittin no.1

Not anymore it doesn't, to me it means growing popularity, nothing to do with how good a band is. Unless you mean in size of fanbase and that, but it still doesn't when you get the gormless tits who jump on the NME/whoever bandwagon, and a few weeks or months later forget about it. I know whats fucking good like, don't need no charts to tell me that either.

if a BAND has a song hit number one, and i dont mean something like kate perry but lets look at this way. shock of the lightning is poor but it hit number 3. acrylic is class but it hit number 44 (i think).
im not saying all huge bands hit number 1 or you have to be huge to get number 1 and if you dont then your not. nor do i think all good music charts. but if a band hits number 1 these days its generally a sign that there a big band. only recent ones i can think of are arctic monkeys and kings of leon.
i do think the charts are pants aswel though, it was just a thought.

To quote Bill Bailey... "There is more evil in our charts than in an Al-Queda suggestion box" Think that pretty much sums it up

I think part of the charm which emanates from the band, is down to this though. They don't strife to please everyone. But, do they deserve more recognition? As a fan i obviously think so, all the songs they've released have been top banana and it really reflects on how thought-out and pristine the album is. The first time i listened to the whole album i was blown away. This goes for the the performances i saw in Nottingham and Sheffield - BONZER.
Liam has natural charisma written all over him, and the crowd seem to receive as much attention in return, as they ultimately give, a quality that seems to have dissipated in most other bands' live shows. This goes for the whole band, who have a such a natural, bemusing stage presence. Some of the amusingly, SHITE reviews written about the band, however, try and fail, in some sort of ominous spiel, to portray this as "arrogance" on Liam's behalf, my answer to this? - "f*ck Off!, and find a job you're actually good at!"
Love the album boys.
