I would fully recommend all their albums. The latest one that won the award is a very good album, seldom seen kid. I think if you just downloaded a random song you might not get into it as much as listening to the whole thing as a body of work from start to finish, just like they said. They are not everyone's cup of tea, just like every band, but they have such a wide variety of songs and styles I am sure there is something for everyone on there. When they use a string orchestra the arrangment is beautifull. f*ck it i'm off down tesco tomorrow to buy a copy......."media guided fool " that i'am...ha!!!

you wont be disapointed mate. Guy Garvey is a top lyricist. Very poetic. Their first single from this fourth album is called Grounds for Divorce, which is quite bluesy. Quality riff in the chorus. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iL4mywCOJXAYou might know this song - One Day Like this - www.youtube.com/watch?v=hooPU2mdsH4Really is a beautifull song - great strings in it. Check out them doing it at Glasto, quality!! If I remember correctly, Bones Of You will be the next single from the album. Check them out www.youtube.com/watch?v=_smRhuJSQpgFrom my brief time on here I have seen you like (if i rmemeber correctly) bands such as kasabian, Oasis, Stone Roses etc. They are not that type of band. You will see for yourself when you get the album. Interested to know what you think.

Elbow are quite largely underrated. Guy Garvey is an excellent lyricist.

My mate saw them on the weekend. Said they were class. I think he said they concentrated more on the new album. But they have four albums worth of stuff to get through, so imagine it a good hour and a half. Only a guess though. Said they were class. I have my tickets for March!!!!

I think this thread was my first offering on this forum. How times change. Certainly not under rated now.

I just saw them again Irlam. Got to agree with what you said. They were mesmerising. Guy Garvey has so much charisma and his interaction with the crowd was brilliant. Glad they played Station Approach, New Born and Leaders Of the Free world. Would have loved it if they played friend of Ours but I imagine tha is to emotional for them to play every night.
There were alot o couples there. Very romantic place to take a bird an elbow gig. Quality stuff!!
