Has anyone on this board ever heard anything by Velvet Underground?? I've got the first 2 albums in my room, the first one is absolutely immense, with Nico and everything, she has a nice voice.
Let's just say, if you haven't ever heard any of their albums, then I suggest that you go to HMV first thing in the morning, even if it means missing work/ collage or whatever, because they are absolutely fucking brilliant!! Definitely get the first album, 'the velvet underground and nico' because its just bloody amazing!! Reccomended tracks: Heroin Femme Fatale
Fucking buy it!!! Or I will find you and I will kill you!!!!!!

I never even heard of them until about a year ago hen I was getting into my music, and I saw the banana cover in HMV so I went home to look them up and I just can't stop listening to them now, nothing closer to genius!

I think that they are one of those bands that if you can't get into them, then you never will, you have to like them from the start, a bit like Joy Division.

Much to my detriment I was like that with quite a few bands, Joy Division are a good example actually aye, and The Cribs and Radiohead - some bands just seem a bit unpenetratable from the surface. Where do you get started with The Velvet Underground?

I got started on the first album, it's so catchy and poppy, wheras most of the other work is very experimental and not very easy listening.
