Best Courteeners Gig You've Been To

you all seem to be digressing somewhat,.... can't really say which my fav. courteeners gig was, they have all left a favourable impression, on the recent morrissey guest dj thing, if you listened to it all, and you should of, he spoke of falling in love with the music, and i agree totally, the smiths/mozz and now the courteeners are part of my family and i love them with a passion, not being wierd/strange like, just you know...................

In the 20-odd times I've seen them, Halifax Doghouse was easily the best.
It was a proper scruffy pub, and they were still tiny at the time.

It was either a thursday or friday night, and they had been in NME for the first time a couple of days before. So waiting for them to come on people were talking about Liam, and had just ripped their opinions straight from NME, word for word.
The band had to walk through the crowd to get to the "stage" (there wasn't actually a stage.)
Cupello was at the front and people wouldn't let him past cause they thought he was pushing in.
When they finally got their, they spent 5 minutes undoing Dannys wiring.
Nobody recognised them, and hardly anyone knew the songs, but by the end of the set it was a full scale riot, Liam got twatted in the face with his own mic a couple of times, fell into Conan and knocked him over his own amp. The gig finishing with the crowd surrounding the band on stage.

Oh and Ivan Campo supported, the band - rather than the fella.

for me it was the astoria gig in april 2008. got wrecked all day, stella for breakfast on the train at 9.00am. went to get in & got searched by the bouncers, they found my charlie in my pocket, said i couldnt come in. not one to take defeat on the chin, i found a local hairdressers, got a skinhead & swapped shirts with my mate. got back in the gig, and watched the best live performance ive ever seen. the place was on fire, never felt such an atmosphere before & ive seen loads of bands. next time though, i dont want to lose me hair so ill find a better hiding place for me tools!

They'd have their wicked way if they could! Bouncers, can't stand them personally. Nearly as bad as gig security at the front at the barrier...though I suppose they have to do their job like many take it too far

The first time I saw them was in Camden about a year ago. I cant really remember much of that gig in all honesty. So, I will probably go with the time I saw them at the O2. Not the most intimate of gigs. Not the best of venues. They were on top form though.

some dude didnt get let into 53 degrees other night cus an advert fell off the wall and he tried sticking it back up. felt so bad for the dude cus he was punished for being helpful. fuckin power crazy twats
