had a few listens to it...
its good, not up to the usual standard of arctic monkeys but its still quite enjoyable and interesting just to hear how different it is. best tune on the album is probably standing next to me, i think thats brilliant. there are some songs on there that are a bit substandard but its a good album, the leak only leaked out 9 of the 12 songs

yeah i've been listening to it non-stop; it's quite addictive & has grown on me a lot. For me the best tracks so far are: my mistakes were made for you, calm like you, the chamber & separate and ever deadly. I can't wait to hear meeting place properly though  Really it's a good thing not all the songs were leaked, at least it leaves something to look forward to |

I just got the ep of itunes all but one of the songs on there i think are great. I can only really hear alex on the songs. I think the arrangement's and music are brilliant. The lyrics are maybe a bit lazy in place's! But he didn't have to record it. It's one for there fan's and i think that should be applauded. I'm looking forward to monday!

After the first couple of plays of the album my initial impressions is that it meanders a little in the middle.
First three tracks are excellent as is "Mistakes". However, "I Don't Like You" should have been left as a Rascals b-side. I think it may be an album that rewards repeated listens it's certainly not as "immediate" as any of the Arctics stuff which may not be an entirely negative thing.
As a couple of reviewers have said a second album would be a little superflous.

Best tracks are the title track, my mistakes were made for you, chamber, black plant, standing next to me. Worst has to be seperate and ever deadly and i dont like you anymore. gets better with every listen but i cant see myself coming back to it in 6 months time |
