seen them live twice and i think they're better live than on record. still like them, some lyrics are a bit random but they're catchy enough for me

Definitely better live, was looking forward to the album but I think it's a mega let down
You only get to do a debut album once and it's average
For every good tune there's an absolute dump track

I saw Kane when they supported the Monkeys as the Little Flames and I was less than impressed, the Rascals aren't that different to the Flames either I dont really agree with this comment frankiewno1, sorry. I believe The Little flames are quite different. They were going with a more Radio friendly sound when they split, something the boys that now form the Rascals are trying to stay clear from. There is obviously elements that are the same, three of them were in that band after all, but I dont really think they are similar. I think the Rascals are very good. I sometimes think somthing is missing from their sound though. I cant put my finger on it. Maybe a fourth member would add something? I am never to sure about three piece bands, although there are some exceptions i.e the Jam. Sometimes I feel they are trying to be too clever with their lyrics. Same with their sound. Trying to stay clear of radio friendly commercial music. They said they were going to deliver a dark album and they certainly have done so, so mission achieved. As has already been mentioned Miles is a very good guitarist. Got some tips from him when he played in Brighton few months back. I cant recall what the help was as was off my head but he was a lovely guy. Met him a few times now. During the Great Escape festival in Brighton they were going to stay at my mates flat after a party. Think only the drummer did in the end.

Guy Garvey is going to be working with them, apparently. Should add some interest.
