With the imminent release of the bands debut album and their 4th single before that, the forum is in much need of it's very own reviews.
I'm not good on that side, so I thought that a few of you would be interested in the position judging on the threads I have read  Top notch stuff!
* 3 reviewers are needed and who be asked to listen and review any forthcoming release by The Courteeners.
* The positions are all non-paid but hopefully I'll be able to get a promo for you to listen to before anyone else 
The application process:
I would like you to submit individual reviews of the first 3 singles in as many words as you want.
Applications will be judged on your reviews with the best 3 being offered the positions on the forum review panel.
* Application reviews should be sent in .txt format (notepad) with your username to snortingandcavorting@hotmail.co.uk with the subject text being: 'Review Panel Application'.
* ALL APPLICATIONS should be received by Monday 17th March 2008.
Please feel free to ask any more questions by posting them in this thread.

I'll re-open applications until 2nd April (avoided the 1st  ) Change to criteria: Only 1 review of any single please. You don't have to be a journo etc to do this, I want the fans views, that's what it's all about [/i]

ah right, i was slightly confused as to what to do (and forgot to read the bit about the 3 single reviews...) so i sent in that review i did for english homework before christmas haha
il do a single review then
it'll be a damn sight better than the one NME did anyway!

Yeah, yeah I know I'm late again but that's forum life! Well, I can say I was disappointed with the number of aplications but it was probably a bad idea to do it this way. I'm in the process of deciding the final reviewers for the panel and will take my time with this, I'll most likely name the panel this weekend this coming week now because I've had a lot on with the t-shirt, I'm off work so I've got to do badge orders whilst my girlfriends at work . The release of the St. Jude may have gone but I'll be looking for one of the panel to review it |

I have what I think is a good idea for the review panel that wouldn't just be a plain and simple review and post thread... ..not saying no-more about it for now. I promise that this is going somewhere, just an awful lot to do I'll get in touch with you lads about my idea which can still work if done right. I think we'll have to work on it to make it a bit different from the normal review kind of thing we always see. Hopefully we can work together on this to make it great but I would hope to let you run the thing |

I said I would contact the panel about the idea but may as well post in here for all to see.
I don't know if we would be able to establish a relationship with the promoters who send out the promos but can't see any negatives into why we shouldn't.
Here's a bit out of a message I had planned to send:
I would like your press releases in the forum and have your own board in the category 'Chronicles' above 'Discography' where each release would then have it's own thread - maybe giving members chance to reply.
The idea that I'm suggesting is to do with the fan's review panel.
I originally posted a thread for members to apply for the review panel; an idea that arouse when I knew the forum needed to be seen to give out their own opinions on The Courteeners music.
I then contacted the band's management to see if I could have any promotional releases for the proposed panel. The applicants were given the task of reviewing The Courteeners first 3 singles, I gave about a month for the reviews to be submitted, this changed to 1 review and an extra month.
Until now I hadn't really thought of where the panel could go other than getting them to review the already released stuff but that wouldn't be the same as a future release.
So I thought of having a combination of your press release board and the review panel. Their own reviews could be then submitted to you for comments on the actual promos you give out - it may sound good to me as I thought of it whist writing this email.

Attention everyone, George is unable to fill his role on the review panel so I'm putting his place up for grabs.
You will have to be very committed as the panel will be very busy at times.
I think I'm going to leave filling the role down to the rest of the panel as they will be working with you.
So it's up to them what they want to do and how they go about picking the member
