Badge set deadline has passed....Now look here

I did post this in the original thread but though it was worthy of an annoucement.

That's it! The deadline has passed and I'm actually left with 4 sets

I did say I may auction them for charity but now I'm thinking a lot of images are hosted by mediafire on here and I'm very disappointed in them, very slow and that's if they do appear.

So this is where I'd like the proceeds of the badge sets to go, I will be finding the best filehosting for the good of all the members, I will not receive anything before anyone thinks it.

So, I don't know the best way to do this, maybe the easiest way would be to stick them on ebay but then 'other' fans may end up with them, I may even have a bidding war on the forum with a deadline date.

It's not going to go down well if I auction them away from members, I did try and auction a set on here ages ago but with no bids I stopped everything!

Actually, if you aint gonna give em' to members, then that's a good idea, since there is 4 left like, might open more doors.

Not a bad idea on sending them to the band but I did send them a load of Glastonbury badges and flyers, which included the No.1 / 50 of the special bagged flyer (S&C FL002).
I don't know if they even got them, maybe I should have followed up with an email asking if they got them!

I even asked if they would register the set but not one single set has been registered!

So I don't know if it would be worth it to send the band 'em?

Maybe Cal (now he's in with the band ) could ask Liam if they got the glasto stuff?


On the auction idea
I thought I had put one up for a forum auction before but after checking past threads it seems I didn't do it in the end...

So maybe this could be a way of getting the forum fund up a bit, as I haven't added to it for a while (the other half wasn't happy about me taking the money from the ebay shop )

Maybe I could list one on ebay with a rule that only members from the forum can win it, the winner would have to prove they are a member on S&C - this could also create a bit of promotion to the forum??

Oh, by the way, the badge sets left are the original ones from the first forum giveaway back in December 2007.
4 of the first 20 members to register on S&C failed to claim the set and had plenty of time to do so - obviously if they had been on the forum regularly then they would have claimed it

Don't let them go to waste in your drawer, I'd get them up for auction if the band don't have them, (primeraly to I can ave some), but what 'worthy cause' would you give the money too.

Seriously though, auctions would bring some cash into S&C, even if it helps to be ad free for a month it's all good.

I have put items up for auction before where a percentage goes to a charity of your choice, if we find one that is related to music or something then a % from each set would go to them

I suppose it doesn't matter if they do not raise much as the forum should gain some more exposure.

There is no charity better than the forum, better than having to fork out your own money. Or it could go towards funds for future projects or summit.

I'm warming to putting them on ebay auctions with members only bids, something like before bidding you have to prove your a member of S&C - with your details of registration or whatever.

I wouldn't keep the cash though!

With the fanzine project kicking off I'm sure that'll need some funding.

Hopefully this could be a great bit of marketing/promotion for S&C, you never know how much attention it could get, specially if it gets around!
I'll put out a bulletin on myspace and like - something like the ad I did for the t-shirt(!)
Just need to do a decent listing (the shop listings are pants ) heavily mention the forum with graphics blah de blah.
Can't remember if your allowed to have links away from ebay in listings(?)

Maybe we could get everyone to circulate this on other forums they go on?
Try and create as much interest as possible
