Just back from the Nottingham gig. A sell out crowd in a packed Rescue Rooms and myself looking forward to another great show. Opened with Aftershow and the crowd seemed pretty quiet as I would guess many of them were here to see them for the first time. Then it was if someone had lit the blue touch paper and the crowd kicked off. Unfortunately, (and I hope this isn't a sign of things to come!), a substantial number seemed to be straight off the terraces and were out for a mosh regardless of the music. I can hold my own on the floor being 6ft and having (too!) many years of experience but it wasn't the good natured battering we are all accustomed to. More beer and cans flew around than I have seen at gigs recently and in all it detracted a bit from the show. Liam looked a bit on edge with the proceedings and even took the precaution of lowering his mike stand and taking a more stooped position for his song delivery. An understandable move as a can of beer on the head isn't really what you want. Can't remember the full set list but incorporated the usual fine set of songs and finished on WTYSL and despite a reasonable call for an encore the lads kept it to just the one set.

Welcome to a Courteeners gig I see those sort of people at alot of gigs, Courteeners seem to attract more than normal though. I wish they'd all die. Okay "die" might be a bit strong, lose a limb or something.

Done a few so not surprised, just a bit annoyed that the lads didn't seem to care for the music at all. Have a gig legacy of several 100's, mainly of punk, psychobilly and too many guitar bands to mention so quite at home with standing my ground in a moshpit, but usually good natured and an asset to the gig with the bruises being part and parcel of the evening! These lads however just detracted from the evening and you could see Liam was uneasy with it. Just hoping that it doesn't become the norm!

i feel the same like, ive seen loads of punk bands, sick of it all, the unseen, rancid, stiff little fingers, loads. and the worse crowd, dick heads wise, is the Arctic Monkeys. hoping it dont turn out like this for the courteeners like

Was at the gig, dont think the gig would have taken the moshing route if the album was out and everyone new the songs word for word. having only a handful of releases out and a load of hype is gonna draw all types in IMO. Along shot but what was the slower song they played a few songs in where he took the mic off the stand?
