Two Ep’s into their short career and they have been described as having a ‘unique sound’ – Clint Boon XFM, have songs that are ‘begging to be on the radio’ – North Wales Pioneer and are ‘F*cking amazing!’ poetically put by Chris Helme (Yards/Seahorses). Turn up the volume and judge for yourself.
Their live gigs produce ‘Stadium sound’ as described by Twisted Wheel and leapfrogs them into a different class altogether. This is when Catfish really come to life and scoop up the oblivious, the doubters and those who were sat on the fence leaving none behind. This has led to support slots with the likes of Reverend & The Makers, Twisted Wheel, Ash and many more along with a recent performance in Austria at the 2010 Snowbombing Festival.
After becoming BBC6 Music Unsigned Band of the year 2009 so far in 2010 Catfish have been finalists in Gigwise King Of The Mountain, ‘Best New Band’ – Camden Crawl and recently won a national battle of the bands competition.
Personally these are one of my favourite bands around, nice lads too, seen them on two occasions and both times they delivered a top notch performance.
