Can see that happening. Scratch your name.... direction. Darker lyrically maybe and perhaps more complex compositions with a twist maybe. I see a twist coming, something we aren't expecting. Afterall he can only get better as a songwriter over time hence surely composition will get more complex and so on.

Yeah I thought the same. The production is gonna be heavier and faster and the lyrics will be darker in places.
It could also be quite dancy in places, he is a bit fan of UNKLE etc. This will hopefully be their 'West Ryder' moment where people realise they are more than an imitation or 'lad band'.

The Courteeners: "We're going Eurodance"[/u]
It's being recorded at 80 Hertz Studio in Manchester with Joe Cross, inspired by time spent in Berlin clubs & the ocassional trip to America. Liam refers to it as sounding like "industrial motown" and its expected to be out around late Spring.
Taken from the NME - Albums of 2012, of which there is an article and a few photos from the shoot Liam did a while back.

All good to hear. Seeing that producers done records with various people, quite enjoy his work with The Heartbreaks and he's even done writing sessions with Lana Del Rey. Interesting.

Jc. Yeah, it's a big shift in sound but it's going to work. I've heard that on stage they're taking bass duties off Cuppello and giving him a pair of DJ decks, it's a lifelong ambition apparantly. Liam confirmed on Twitter that the band had finished 12 songs and plan to record another 6 or 7 in the sessions. He also confirmed 8 of the 12 already recorded will more than likely be on the record. I assume that some of the rest will make up the b-sides.
Looks like it will all be fully recorded and mixed by March and then I predict a summer release (July). Which could mean we get a tracklisting and free download by March/April time. Fingers crossed...

Had a brief look at Liam's twitter and he is currently in NYC but says that the band only have another couple of weeks in the studio.
That to me should be everything done and dusted then so maybe an announcement or details over the next month.
