Miles KaneHaving graced the stage in support of The Courteeners in the previous week opinions will have been formed about the recently launched solo career of ex Rascal man Miles Kane. Signed to Columbia, and with a debut album out in early 2011, he has made a good start to his career with impressive debut single 'Inhaler'. Focused on a riff from 60's band The Music Machine, it's a strong song that comes alive live more than on record. Kane will suffer the inevitable Last Shadow Puppets comparisons and probably questions about his decision to split from The Rascals, however it's important he makes his own stamp on the music, which so far he has. Highlights of his previous tour included new single 'Come Closer', aswell as summery anthem in the making 'Quicksand'. The aforementioned sounds like a destined singalong, with it's 'bah bah bah da da da' chorus catchier than any of his previous work. With Noel Gallagher featuring on the upcoming album, he's pulling out all the stops to make sure he is taken for Miles Kane, and not compared to previous bands or famous friends he has. So far it's a convincing case, one that will be further decided with time. www.mileskane.com

Love every track I've heard so far and his work in the Last Shadow Puppets. He's got a good 60's vibe going on and I'll be buying that album come April.
Come Closer is really catchy and sounds great live, a little disappointed with the studio effort though.
