Noah & The Whale - L.I.F.E. G.O.E.S O.N
If anyone heard Noah & The Whale's second album then they will know that lead singer, Charlie Fink, was in dire need of a cheer up. Recorded after his breakup with Laura Marling, 'The First Days Of Spring' was critically acclaimed and branded a classic, while ridding themselves of the one hit wonder tag that came with the success of single '5 Years Time'. The title of the returning lead single, taken from third album 'Last Night On Earth', seems to be a direct response to his heartbreak. Taking on the role of narrator, the song follows two people at certain points of their life, perhaps even about himself pragmatically. The song is light-hearted, and maybe a perfect song to listen to on a summer's day, but it can only be described as a good song. The only problem with the band is that it will be seemingly impossible to top their second album, however it remains yet to be seen and for now their upcoming single should be enjoyed on its own merits.
