At first, i wasn't convinced by Bring The Light, I initially thought it was bit embarassing infact, especially the lyrics. However, it really grew on me, especially the piano. The bside, Sons of the Stage, despite being a cover, is great i think. I much heavier, more full-on twist on the original. The two stand-out riffs are very catchy.
I loved Four Letter Word as soon as i heard. Very rocknroll, and Liam's lyrics surprised me! very good.
The Roller has grown on me too. I immediately thought of All You Need Is Love and Instant Karma when i heard it, but ive been unable to stop playing it. "The only thing is, everything is real tonight" is a great line, and perfectly delivered in my opinion. I heard rumour that Gem Archer penned that one? Whoever wrote it, top stuff.
Having been cynical, I really can't wait for the album. Music and rock'n'roll in particular needs this.
edit: I dont understand why people have a problem with it sounding like the beatles and john lennon. What exactly is wrong with that? Personally, i'll take some more Lennon any day.

I dont understand why people who liked oasis, particularly those who loved them, have an issue with it sounding like beatles and john lennon or anybody. Oasis were always very imitational.
I always liked Noels voice though, so songs like Masterplan and Falling Down were brilliant to me, Beady Eye will never have a voice I like.

Liam is like a bit like Marmite. His voice and his attitude......people either love it or hate it.
I like them both and so Beady Eye are naturally a very good band for me, others who dont want be into it. As far as Liam goes, there is no happy medium but with Noel there is.

it's a shame about Liam Gallagher. I'm a big fan of his style and he clearly has a huge passion for rock'n'roll, which is only a good thing. I'm not gonna lose sleep over it, but I don't get why he acts like a complete weapon so often

I think a lot of it is an act out in the public. Being a huge fan, I've seen and heard a lot of interviews and over the last 10 years half have been what we know and see in the public eye but the other half are very sincere and he comes across as down to earth and a general good guy.

What an AMAZING album. Couldn't be more happy and more proud of what the boys came up with.

So the album is now out there officially and the tour began two nights ago.
What is the general consensus on the album? And is anyone going to the gigs?
I like the album, some really nice tunes on there. A solid 7/10, very similar to Don't Believe The Truth and can hold its own with any post '96 Oasis release.
A lot of 60's & 70's influences in there. The Beatles, The Stones, The Who & The Kinks and a bit of the The La's in there too so its right up my street.
I'm going seeing them at the Apollo on Monday with Miles Kane supporting so that should be a really good night out, can't wait.

I'm going to listen to it in the next couple of days or so, the singles haven't impressed me though.

If I'm being honest Sean, I dont think you'll like.
I may be wrong but you've probably already made up your mind and unfortunately a lot of people will have that view.
I would recommend a listen though.

I'll go into it with an open mind, only reason I've disliked the singles is because they've just seemed wholly unimaginative.
