The Vaccines -

Nobody quite know's who The Vaccines are. Rumours are abound that the singer is a brother of one of The Horrors, and from London but the only people who know if these facts have a grain of truth in them is the people involved with the band. They first came to attention through Zane Lowe, who hailed the band via his Twitter account and made their one known song and demo, 'If You Wanna' his hottest record of the week. Described by him as; "Absolutely love this. 'If You Wanna' is the debut recording for this super exciting new band. Like The Beach Boys recording for Flying Nun. An instant classic pop song. " While that imaginative title may not help you to envisage the song, one thing you should know is that it's good, and whoever this band are, they're one to watch.

These are crashing the top 40 (pop chart) with their new single 'Post Break Up Sex' which is sitting at number 24 at the moment. Everyone should check it out. They're also playing a gig in support of Arcade Fire at Hyde Park and opening the NME Radar Tour in Febuary, as well as releasing their debut album in March.

Going to see them in Inverness on 30th March - 270ml round trip on a Wednesday night but from what I have heard so far it will be worth it - also on the TitP 2011 lineup announced earlier this week where I am sure the chants and thumping drum/bass line will go down a storm - hope they get a decent slot - maybe an opener on the Friday on the NME Stage as they seem to be a favourite of them at the moment
