The Heartbreaks -
The Heartbreaks are a Morecambe band, presently residing in Manchester in the hope they can stir something missing from British guitar music of late. Formed in 2009, they have already been on the cover of a magazine, graced the pages of NME and released two convincing singles, as well as touring up and down the lengths of Britain, earning acclaim from Steve Lamacq and playing various festivals. With song subjects stemming from their luck, or lack of it, with girls along with jealousy and their 'out of season seaside town'. Subjects that seem to come as part and parcel of most young British bands such as The Heartbreaks, but none I've come across have had a genuine romanticism to their work, and none with the sound and ingenuity to create something meaningful that The Heartbreaks possess. With the two singles released being 'Liar, My Dear', and 'I Didn't Think It Would Hurt To Think Of You', the band have quickly become favourites of local record store Piccadilly Records, with the shop having to say "We're tipping these fellas for big things. Only two singles in and they're already Piccadilly faves!". Already adorning the cover of style and music magazine Upproar, the band are making waves amongst music scene's across the country, and with backing from highly respected BBC DJ's, it can only move upwards. The Heartbreaks have the classic croon, classic jangly guitars, and all the potential in the world to help them become a classic band.
