Maybe some sort of art competition? Like for wallpapers and stuff for the computer? Could be an idea?

I'm thinking just some sort of regular weekly feature, like album of the week or single of the week. New band of the week, etc. Just something to bring some consistency back here.

Sounds like a good idea Sean, could easy have this in the Review Panel Deviating. Do you fancy starting this up when you get the time? I will set up the boards for it and make you a mod or something for the deviating panel? Maybe some sort of art competition? Like for wallpapers and stuff for the computer? Could be an idea? Yeah this sounds good too, we desperately need that part of the forum updated. This could tie in with the 'New CD'; instead of a sign-up to get a copy of the CD, we could have a series of competitions running alongside each other for different aspects of the forum. Members would be able to enter a compeition which actually interests them, could be a poem, CD artwork, wallpapers, review etc etc, instead of one set compo we had to win the 'In America' CD. Good idea Sam

Good idea Sam Last exam is 28th, so I'll give you a PM around then because after the 28th I'll be sitting around doing nothing

To carry on with the idea of a series of competitions to win a copy of the next forum CD "St. Jude Live", here's the suggestions so far: - Wallpapers
- Avatars
- "St. Jude Live" Cover
- Review (original / not already in the Review Panel)
Other things I have thought about: Hmmm Poems and that... maybe just have one entry for anything covered in the Thoughts board?!? Could have a nice easy entry for the Suggestions board where you just have to suggest an idea for the forum and the best/or any I use win a CD. I don't think Audio/ Video would bring many entries to make a download or a proper DVD, so I'll probably leave those boards out. Bringing in the Documentation board may be a good thing, for example have the compo as a submission thing where you can send scans/digitalised articles from newspapers etc Also can have tickets, gig posters, anything like that. Would be nice to have a decent history of everything the band has done. Same again with the Unofficial/Bootlegs board, have submissions and this would be a good way to get more content into the board. Errr... I know it's boring but what about "how to" guides for the forum... here's a few suggestions... How to burn mp3's on a disc / extracting mp3's from a RAR file. How to post an avatar/signature in your profile or a full guide to pimping your profile. Loads to go at really! Phew! That's all so far, let me know what you think or have any other ideas.... Cheers

yeah extracting rar's is really easy. yeah all them suggestions are really easy to do. maybe i'm thinking everyone takes a picture of their courteeners collection, or writes down what they've got and we make kind of a forum collection? so like how many albums the forum as a whole own, how many acrylic vinyl's, etc etc?

I'm sure when you (or cb?) started a thread to show off collections, it turned into a 'slagging off' thread but your idea is growing on me Sean as it could also bring us some decent content for the Documentation board. I've not been doing much towards this for many reasons but on a whole members posts have been scarce, it's hard work when the same members offer their ideas to these kind of things. We need more feedback, suggestions and ideas from new(er) members, it is your forum too

I've not had time to work on this competition series, no paid work again so I've been putting more effort into my ebay shop, need to earn some cash.
Anyway, once I get into a decent work method and get my stock on ebay I'll have to put this on hold. It could be a few more weeks until I get any time... sorry

Another month or so has passed and I'm still no closer to starting the competitions idea up, sorry about that but still working on the shop.
It's keep me going whist off work and now I'm back in work again, who's know how long for but you've got to take it whist it's there.
