It will be a shite 'comeback' like the rest, and I like the libertines.
I think they've only reformed because of Money, and most of the time when it's that way their hearts aren't in it.
Look at the Verves attempt at a comeback, excellent band (and they did put on a good show playing the old stuff) but Forth was a woeful album.

Fair play, that guy must have some inside information. Got the lineup to a tee. Know anything about V mate?

I got my ticket last night for the Friday. I'm only going to see The Libertines, great bonus The Maccabees, The Cribs & Arcade Fire are playing aswell. I really don't care whether they "get it right" or whatever. I'm chuffed I'll The Libertines are playing together again.

Musicians very rarely "play shit". You just knew people would have bad things to say about The Libertines playing together again. The strength of the songs will shine, regardless of guitar playing/playing shit etc.

Up The Bracket is probably the best album in.. well, ages.
Not sure on the festival thing though, a sweaty indoor venue is what they need.

personally, i'd put the strokes debut album and, depsite it coming a few years afterwards, the arctic monkey's debut album ahead of anything the libertines produced as regards seminal 'indie rock' albums of the 00's.
I like the libertines, and think those albums certainly deserve recognition, but i think the quality of them is vastly exaggerated as a result of the whole pete doherty-carl barat celebrity relationship. it's only this extra-musical aspect of the libertines that has given them this mythical status in my opinion.

That's all been said before.
The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys albums were poppier. The Libertines appears to be a lot more real and has a lot more depth than them 2 albums put together.
